Ha i love that the rage guy is in it...Commie who makes good music...
Shit slogan. I appreciate he acted on his principles, and less on a idea of a martyr. But I think he didnt seem to question wether the juice was worth the squeeze. The noise i picked up from leaked stuff seemed all to be pretty known stuff. Like the stuff a german town knows next to a jew camp as the ashes fall in their tea cups. I cant help but question what good has came from what he did. Brave attempt but seemed unsuccessful... Good try, maybe the next whistleblower will do better. Even the NSA guy blew his load early. How can people not know the NSA is spying especially with their new data center in utah. And every past leak. They will do whatever they want. We are all pretty powerless. Look what happens in the east when a populace rebels. Are any of those countries better off when its exchanging one leader for another after destroying your home.... ah its all so depressing.
Which leads me to think we should all change up our daily greetings and exits with shit like instead of "alright see you later" to "tomorrow we kill the president", or "hey you get that email" to "the anthrax has been sent" im sure people could have fun and be more clever than my shit, but a fun way to troll the shit out of the NSA

Maggie Gyllenhal is outstanding.

It's interesting this hasn't gotten a response yet. As a self-described moderate and political cynicist, I'm seeing a real quagmire among the left when it comes to stories like this, NSA leaks, drones, IRS manipulations, etc.
where did all the rage go? Is it because most liberals (I don't think i'm assuming too much by asserting that here) voted for the guy and any associative wrong-doing is too much to admit/call-out?
Let me come clean. I voted for Bush in 2004.
I defended his actions w/ inaction for a long time too. I'm sorry. I've repented. It feels good to not be saddled into defendeding decisions you're against for four years based on a vote you made one day.I think his has all kinds of 'grey' around it.
We all work in structures (agencies, firms, clients) where you don't just go big air and address personal concerns with the CCO/CEO. There's a leveled-management ladder. Then again, maybe that's just set up to appease guilt in lower-ranking officers, and - as the video suggests- it never sees the public light (soldier gets what he wants / govt. gets what they want). Maybe he saw the beaurocracy for what it was and did what he had to do?
Either way - this is a good subject and I think it's okay to speak out against policies you disagree with - the alternative not being a point for the team you really don't like.
- I believe most of the celebrities in that video are, in fact, liberals ragingmonospaced
- 1. no one wants to watch Russel Brand. 2. The only opinions respected here are the popular ones.albums
- And all this treading on civil liberties is hardly new or unique to Obama's term by a long shotmonospaced
- herd mentality does not equal an open base for communication. (see shooting of the day thread)albums
- They are. Good for them.
Where's all the usual rage here?identity - It's after hours US eastern time, and it slows down for awhile.monospaced
- Trueidentity
- The ragers and political trolls will show up, and they will rage and troll, in due time.monospaced
- And believe it or not, this is actually the first I've heard of Manning, that I know of. Seems vaguely familiar though.monospaced
- Yeah - came around a few months back from what I remember. A shadow compared to NSA.identity
- Actually fair and balanced, thanks identiy.eoin

@ identity
Regarding your metaphor about the workplace. Manning did go through the management ladder with his concerns, and that's why he was arrested and tortured. What is going on now is that he's writing the memo in the newspaper.

Thanks for that update. Missed that!

I don't think liberals, in general (forgive me for generalizing, I'm sure there will be exceptions), will support this kind of thing just because they supported Obama and his political lines. This is one of those things—I hope—that is simply American (USA, whatever), and should upset us all.
- Yes!identity
- and yet it doesn't concern most people.albums
- This nation was founded on the concept of escaping a corrupt government in favor of a transparent one. This sickens me.monospaced
- Anyway, where's yurimon and gang? Can't wait to hear their sidetracked ramblings.monospaced
- this nation currently exists on lies and high fructose corn syrupalbums
- that is true, albums, and it "should upset us all."monospaced
- again your selfish opinion is just that, yours, selfish, and opinion. just like everyone watching prime time tv nowalbums
- you shouldn't say, think, or demand that others should do anything, that expectation results in disappointmentalbums
- i mean have hope and all, but don't spread it like religionalbums
- I didn't realize I was being selfish, sorry?monospaced
- i believe in playing the game in session, i'm not concerned with repairing social ills through demandsalbums
- not in a rude way, just a point of reference, nothing to apologize about.albums
- you keep stating you think others. well in return, i believe you should not think others do anythingalbums
- kind of a you take care of you, i'll take care of me way of looking at things.albums
- but repairing social ills through demands is exactly what we're supposed to do, according to our constitutionmonospaced
- I'm not here to fight, by the way. My comment was minimally opinionated, and I was clear about that.monospaced
- I meant Declaration of Independence, not Constitution ... my bad.monospaced

Actually Manning didn't go to the management...he was turned in by one of his friends (a guy named Adrian Lamo) after leaking the files to Wikileaks

Bradley Manning is Burial?

No one mentions the fact that, a long time ago now, American nationhood was bought by something other than its elected government. That its elected government is powerless, constipated. Same can be said for most G8 nations. That sounds like crazy talk, I know, but how much more evidence do you need to realise that that is the case; a fact? And before the thoughtless backlash starts, this is not a criticism, but a wish that you will recognise it, that we can all recognise it.
The same thing has happened among all G8 nations. We just hosted the useless G8 puppets who act like they are our elected leaders here in Ireland, those who pretend to us, daily, that they are us. They are not. They haven't been us for a very long time.

Ps, I have no problem listening to Russel Brand, as annoying as he looks/sounds, he is certainly a thoughtful person. And it's hard not to have time for Roger Waters. If your constitution means anything, Bradley Manning should be lauded rather than tortured ... fucking hell, I can't believe I am talking about the United States.

I'm all for a lively debate about Bradley Manning's actions, but:
WTF does "I am Bradley Manning" even fucking mean? Jesus christ can we get a better message here?
- Way to miss the point, yet again.eoin
- Actually no. I understand the point, just like the last time. But feel free to swing on the nuts.cannonball1978
- if you understood it the whole time, then why did you ask what it means?monospaced
- I understand the point. I don't understand what the phrase is intended to represent/accomplish as a figure of speech.cannonball1978

A nationless cabal of monied entities has been listening in on us for years, manipulating us through cultural algorithms, disrespecting the very tenets that our ancestors fought/died for in order to make our society fair ... it's sickening how those tenets that we have held, and continue to hold, so dearly, have been demolished so easily. I remember meeting a native American man years ago, Laughing Wolf, who described it metaphorically and thusly, "the modern American nation [not its people] snorts cocaine off the bones of my ancestors." That it is what is happening to modern American natives: a silent, yet technologically powerful group are obliterating those whom they consider less than themselves; their slaves. And it goes without saying that it's not one race/nationality/creed who have made this the case. Rather, it's a greedy elite that needs to be relieved of its money/power. And again, it should go without saying that no one needs to die in order to reverse this cultural extermination, however, social – i.e. we the people's – unrest needs to further manifest. Because the alternative is ...
