I built this little web app in a couple hours the other night. it allows any website to also have a chat room, so you can talk to other people that visit the same site as you etc.
Obviously this is just a basic ass prototype, curious what you think of it?

You can change 'qbn' in the above url to any url

it's a good idea, some 2 years or so ago another qbnler started the same idea and got it pretty far with time:

hey, yea i did actually see that a while back as well. this idea is slightly different in that you can create a chat room for any url you want for example:
chat3.ap01.aws.af.cm/uan
and that ^ is now a completely new chatroom created on the fly

what I think is, you have a good starting point and you should continue development on your version of the idea.
that chatttr thing is a fully developed version of the concept, and even if in the first place it could be a bit of a bumper for your project, you might bring your own twist to the concept.

I've always liked the idea of skinning a site so you could create notation on the content, chat/leave messages for other visitors, create ad hoc forums, etc, independent of the site owner's involvement/hosting. Ideally a browser plugin that detects when this meta content is present on a site and alerts you, lets you turn it on/off depending on the site.
Your prototype isn't really tied to the target site in any way though, so it's basically just another chat program.
