It's getting harder everyday to get some sense in people, just looking at some of the messages here proves that the circlejerk of hate will just continue..

It's not terror, it's war. And when the front moves into your town it's a bit harder to stay apathetic about it, isn't it? But the only effect moving the front into the west has, is that it will make the general populace scream for nuking brown people instead of just shooting them.
- "It's not terror, it's war. " true!janne
- Don't feel its either of those things.webazoot
- It's not war. This isn't armies and nations, this is rogue shit and it's terror through and through.monospaced

Friend in Birmingham just posted this story... barley made the news 3 Weeks ago. Racially motivated murder of a 75 yr old muslim man in Birmingham... murderer on the loose.
"Mohammed Saleem, who used a walking stick, was stabbed three times in the back as he returned home from prayers at his local mosque in Small Heath, Birmingham, on Monday night."
- bath salts again?obsolete
- great link Kingsteven, all media always nicely find a way to cherrypick their newssrhadden
- it's not surprising at all, the media want us all to support the war. This applies to below post aswell.set
- Headlines says "may have been racially motivated"
No actual evidence of that.webazoot

The newspaper front pages all have full-page images of the murderer with bloodied hands and a knife, all with reactionary headlines.
Surely the last thing we want to do is highlight these extremist's ideologies in the national press. Yet that's what we always seem to do.
Yes the public will want to know what happened, but surely we need to downplay it. Otherwise people will make an association with violent acts and widespread media coverage of their cause.

Radical Islamist preacher Anjem Choudary has said he was "shocked" by the murder of a soldier in Woolwich, but has refused to condemn the attack.
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-226…
Extremist preacher... born in UK, says he has the right to stay here and "air his views". Meanwhile, the UK gov just sit back and listen, 'Yeah, we knew about this guy years ago... he's on a list. Along with about a thousand others'. Great.
Too much human rights in the UK.
- disagree - no way we should let these mad fuckers turn us into a police state. that's what they wanthans_glib
- So you'd have people what... imprisoned, deported... for their beliefs?set
- @ set. This guy hates everything the western world stands for... but insists on living in a western country? Why?goldieboy
- Because he has it very easy. And loves to public express 'his view' of hate to the the western way of life. He's a twat!goldieboy
- I don't disagree but it's a slippery slope when we are legally condemning people simply for beliefsset

People with anti-libertarian views should have their right to voice them taken away, says pang, as he/she voices his/her anti-libertarian view.
- I'm not saying 'anti-libertarian'. I'm saying TOO much human rights. Having beliefs - ok fine. But...pang
- Preaching is one thing. Radicalization is another. Yes, deport radicalized nut jobs.pang

To randomly pick out and kill a soldier won't help their cause, this will actually have the opposite effect; UK soldiers in their home country will seek retribution. This story will blend in with all the other news as more headlines are generated. These two would have eventually killed someone for whatever reasons they felt justified the action, but in this way just brought more hell down upon their fellow countrymen. #brilliant
- no doubt they are half-wits.set
- Their cause is terror. They did it perfectly. Fucked up.monospaced

Love the tactical response arriving in a ford focus.

^ hmm...
this is maybe what they're hoping - to stoke racial tension. If they can generate a heavy-handed response from the authorities and outraged nationalists, then they can recruit more people to the cause - "we need to defend ourselves against the oppressors... etc"
Of course, I'm assuming they're capable of rational thought (which is a huge assumption... they did look totally out of it).
- chaos theoryApeRobot
- Desperation can be a powerful motivator. I'd be interested in reading the post-detox interrogation.ZOOP
- I'm not sure they did look totally out of it, did they? They seemed fairly rational, even apologising for people having to see itset
- ....for people having to see it...set

I like how on CNN they say "Suspect caught on video". Orly?
- Do we have to say allegedly in this case? ...ZOOP
- what's your point?set
- He wasnt "caught" on video. He willingly gave a speech on video. That's not being caught on video.CygnusZero4
- He wasnt accidentally seen on a cell phone camera, or security camera.CygnusZero4
- The boston bombers were caught on video, this guy wasnt.CygnusZero4
- When an actor goes up to a camera to give a quick interview, was he caught on camera? No.CygnusZero4
- caught on video = captured on video?_niko
