"Disney laid off the entire staff of 150 people this morning and both of the company's current projects--Star Wars: First Assault and Star Wars 1313--have been cancelled."
Oh well, all good things must come to pass, I suppose.
Strange to think of a behemoth like Disney so concerned about risk to the bottom line on a such a beloved brand that has, to my knowledge anyway, not that many catastrophic duffers in its portfolio.
The licensing model makes sense for the SW franchise... but I guess that puts the kibosh on any extension of the monkey Island series?
I play Disney games with my daughter
Disney console games suck, full of in app purchases like IOS games.
I was really looking forward to 1313.
Sorry but their games sucked
Honestly, their games were bad, and I think they knew it. I didn't even like battlefront. They were right to stick with what they know -developing IP, not game titles.
they were great in the 90s
- sam & max
- day of the tentacle
- indiana jones atlantis
- full throttle
- monkey island(s)
- grim fandango
wonder what will happen to some of those properties..
This is what happens when big companies become bigger.
failure to remain relevant.
I had great times with their games, sad to see them go away.
That's messed up. The gaming industry is already tough. If they can't afford to keep them in business (which they can), they shouldn't have purchased Lucas. Pours 40 oz for game developers.
It's a shame and not saying they deserve it but in all those years they didn't really come up with a truly excellent game using THAT licence...
Who cares, they haven't made anything good since Grim Fandango
Please finish Battlefront 3.
