I like the brand! Mostly because they seem like they are doing it right. I feel that so many companies now a days get some cred and then blow up and go to shit.
Too much hate on QBN.
- that's what happens when the founder sells his companydoesnotexist
- Thanks for the kind words! We love what we do, so we do it non-stop. Nowadays people can sense true passionJohnnyCupcakes

nice packaging... I'm thinking the packaging it self is worth more than the merchandise which is a great strategy when your product is not as high end.
- define high end in clothing? a famous logo on regular clothes with great packagingMiguex
- a louie vuitton t-shirt probably costs $500 bucks, it's considered high-end, but its a t-shirtMiguex
- high end not as high end brand, but more about the quality of the actual product being sold.hektor911
- Also, cannot be sold on wallmartMiguex
- cotton, what material were use, the cut etc.hektor911
- What is worth the most are the non-tangible items such as creating emotional excitement, loyalty, and experiencesJohnnyCupcakes

"there is so much competition and it's tough to break new ground"
Not to mention if you have any remotely successful design it will be ripped off by Topshop/UO/Market Vendors by the end of the month.

Johnny... you still here?
Would be interesting to know how you find running this now it's grown compared to when you started. Cheers.

- I find running the brand well with having a super team. Things haven't changed except for being well organized!JohnnyCupcakes
- I'm able to focus on my strong point—steering this pirate ship of a brand via brainstorming ideas + concepts to the maxJohnnyCupcakes

I think it's hard to make it in the t-shirt game. there is so much competition and it's tough to break new ground. He turned an idea into a multi million dollar company. How many of you have done that? I don't own any of his t-shirts, but from a business standpoint, it's pretty remarkable.
- agreed. stuff's not my cup o tea but in the end it's a great executionprophetone
- I have a couple of shirts and they are great, plus people always recognize and like them ...OSFA

Johnny - how do you work with designers? Do they submit ideas to you or do you have the designs commissioned?
- Although I started the brand & original designs, it's not my strong point. I have a team + we often collaborate w/ others.JohnnyCupcakes
- If you or anyone have an portfolios or work online that you'd like me to check out, we sometimes outsource + collabJohnnyCupcakes

Maybe Johnny is really Joaquin Phoenix?
Every packaging / ltd edition thing does has been done before and better by other, actually cool brands.
His production execution and follow-through is admirable, but come on, cupcakes?

Although my brand isn't for everyone, I hope that some of you can at least pull some inspiration from our packaging, products, store design, and the experience.--
Totally, I think everyone here as graphic designer could appreciate what this guy is doing brand wise, presentation is impecable. Ok, so you wouldn't wear a cupcake graphic on your chest, I understand that, but just means the whole concept is not for you. Objectively speaking and as a graphic designer, this is pretty cool:

... and the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles stickers :]
- Can't forget those! For those who don't know—we put random vintage trading cards and toys in every order. You might get a Ninja Turtles card or a Saved By The Bell hologram. My favorite, Home Alone 2 trading cards. It's all about the bird lady.JohnnyCupcakes
