Rebrand in 5 years...
- i_monk0
American Airlines is bankrupt isn't it?
I don't mean conceptually, I mean as a company.

- Really liked this...JackRyan
- That was awful! Not american at all. Plus why did they use wood?qTime
- utter bollocksqTime
- this is what they should of went with.utopian
- Wooden texture, are their planes made out of wood?qTime
- < Yes, the wood texture would be incorporated into their furniture, collateral, etc...utopian
- reminds me of american apparel.
The logotype i meank_temp - Fake wood texture on Jets, hahahahah. Bet that would look great.qTime
- Sod this. And anyone who says 'at least they're doing [whatever]' it's a shallow and fashionable design wank.MrT
- American Apparel Airlinesukit2
- It could be a brand for a coffee chain. Why is there no colour on plain? What is american about it. FAILqTime
- Hipster Airlines.Gucci
- Whoever did this thinks they're channeling Mad Men, but they're really channeling Urban Outfitters.designquestions
- This is total shitmarychain

Don't care for the font. It's not special at all.

It seems like every fucking client wants one of the following:
• 3D
• Bevels
• Overlapping Colors
• Abstract
- pr20
i like it.
it looks way newer than their old 80s crap.
and it's a bit unique in that they don't stay in a square, rectangle or circle
they didn't loose the "spirit" of the logo by getting rid of the eaglethey way they do tails of the airplanes is scary though.
with so many people hating American i would be a bit scared to fly planes with the american flag
- utopian0
It looks like the birdie logo is playing "hide-and-go-seek" on the airplane wing.
- hans_glib0
i'm so fucking sick of futurebrand and their addiction to shitty vignettes.
bah.

More American vernacular going down the pan – first USA today, now this!

When I was a child we flew AA across the country all the time and my grandmother or parents would always walk us up to the pilot's cabin to get a little tour. The pilot would always give us an AA pin just like they wear, and I have a little collection of these still.
I know, totally off topic, but I remember this as part of their brand.
- You're like the kid in that movie Airplaneqoob
- yes. i always went into the cockpit when ever i flew as a kid (never AA though). don't get that shit anymore these days.sine
- i also had a model collection of worldwide airlines my dad bought whenever he flew for business.sine
- < even more off-topicsine
- he is the 1%

Fucking tired of people destroying classic, iconic logos for glossy, 3d-ish bullshit. This will be over in 3 years and then what??? Another rebrand?
We're supposed to be improving...
- CygnusZero40
Doesnt AA's planes have that shiny metal look? Or was the United? Anyway I think that flag on the tail would look cool with the shiny look. Other planes have a matte surface, I dont think it would look as cool on that.
