Father of a kid in my daughter's soccer class is the head of a team ESPN hired to specifically design UI and content for this stupid thing. ESPN is investing millions - thinking it's going to be a giant sports thing.
I keep picturing a guy with one of those beer helmets on, his google glasses while updating his fantasy football team while watching the World series. Oh yeah, it'll happen.
- forget about sports, when is Brazzers getting a demo?_niko

I'm sure the technology is impressive but I'll be damned if I'm going to walk around with bulky specs that allow me to read yelp reviews.

I'm working on CallesMaker, but for iOS.

KimberyDeiss has received many threats and has recently turned off her website and email in fear that someone will find her and anonymously stab her since this CNN article.

Sure, it's ugly now but in 10 years this technology will be in available in contact lenses or the bridge of designer frames. Hands free video chat and HUD will be useful enough that people will adopt it. Not everyone, but enough to keep the technology moving forward.

Heh, just read a Giz article on how they have a display on a contact lens. Google glasses will be obsolete once these are out. Mission Impossible-style yo!

i'll wait for Apple to finally do this correctly.

I see this as the start to pass along all our info to a something else when we see fit. Phone in pocket,
I need info while my hands are occupied > display it in glasses
Driving > display it in the car glass
Walk to the fridge, display info on its display
etc, etc...The glasses are only a surface to display info on. I see the next step to change the way we look at a device, you carry it, but you don't need to look at it, you can display info from it on other formats more appropriate to the situation.

Well it doesn't have much use outside of the things I mentioned, and the things I mentioned I would fucking love on a sweet HUD. I don't think I would like to browse a website with it or take long notes or design anything etc. it's just a way of releasing some of your phones features from your pocket.

The headcam function is just one of many, messaging, mapping, weather, camera etc. pretty cool to look at sky and get weather forecast. At night see the stars. I like the idea of being able to take snaps with it. Blink to take picture yessss. Beyond mapping messaging and basic note taking weather camera etc. it's not got much use but I do like it. I hope it's not heart stoppingly expensive!!!
I'd love this shit if it were slightly less awful looking.
- 'not got much use' one of those phrases that will be repeated years from now like 'i cant see why you would want a computer in your house.twokids
- How many apps do you use regularly? When did you last use the sky mapping app you paid a fiver for?raf
- Dude I use that sky app all the time it's magic, I used it the other night out with the dog :Dchossy

Tell me it isnt weird that every other person on the street has their head tipped down as they look at their phone. Not to mention people driving.
The change has started! Deal with it.
- Tablets always made sense in theory, this—not even Google knows what to do with, have to ask devs for a year.raf

People wearing headcams—unless they're disabled, doing outdoor sports or work in shop security—will look creepy, and rightfully so.
A likely scenario is for Google to get $gazillion orders from police who will record every single interaction with people they protect and serve from then on.

Of course it will catch on. There is the price/usability thing that has to be done right, but in the long run, this is something that will happen.
Many people thought the iPad was stupid before it came out.
I have a laptop! I have an iPhone! Why do I need this?!!!
You will need this.
- Apple launched iPhones/iPads with confidence, Google released this to devs to come up with what it's good for.raf
