ok.
so i make these keynote presentations... export as png's. (no animations or transitions)
then I synch them with the mp3, slide by slide using final cut express
black text looks perfect.
red text looks like shit... its all blurry and weird compared to the black.
I read that red has some issues... but i've seen similar videos using red with no issues.
I tried a darker shade (up to 190) but no luck, same thing.
any suggestions?

maybe you text is just between 2 encoding blocks...try moving it some pixels up, down, left and right.

hmm.... i'm exporting the slides as png's from keynote.
dragging them onto final cut.
so theres nothing to move up or down.

what are the resolution and frame size are the PNGs?
- And is the fuzziness on an external monitor or on your screen or both?locustsloth

could be a sequence issue - square vs pal/ntsc pixels
make sure your sequence matches your png pixel shapealso, final cut doesnt handle stills very well at all, especially text. id use after effects and up it to 16/32 bit
also, have you rendered the sequence? might be a preview issue
i dont use fc express so not sure how it works with renders but with fcp, often it has a green line/preview and you have to alt-r to render that
- also, red on black/white is notorious for trouble. are the stills animated at all? like scale or anything? there is a formula for % vs fpswhereRI

notes wont let me finish that for some reason
there is a formula for animating stills for % scale/position vs fps - check creative cow they have it there

i just made a file in keynote, if you click export, and select highest quality its gives you png's.
the FCX file, theres no animations or transitions... its literally a dude talking and the slides moving with his voice.
i just drag the png slides into FCX and they cover the entire screen... everything works fine and looks fine but that red fucking text.
the black is never an issue. the red is, and from reading it seems like its an encoding issue?
i'm wondering if there's a sequence rendering setting that needs to be updated?
i just find it pretty funny... we can make all kinda gangster shit these days compared to early 2000's when we were all starting out....
but we still cant get red type on a while bg on video to work.

thanks for the help guys. much appreciated...
encoding issue... whoever said that was right...
x264 encoder fixes the issue. its a free download (just google it)

red is always a problem.. try making it slightly darker..
