    could be a sequence issue - square vs pal/ntsc pixels
    make sure your sequence matches your png pixel shape

    also, final cut doesnt handle stills very well at all, especially text. id use after effects and up it to 16/32 bit

    also, have you rendered the sequence? might be a preview issue

    i dont use fc express so not sure how it works with renders but with fcp, often it has a green line/preview and you have to alt-r to render that
