I wonder how many of these critics are actually paid sponsors. They never seem all that critical when a major blockbuster is on the line.
- CygnusZero40
^ I dont know. Some of them ripped Dark Knight Rises to pieces and plenty of other blockbusters. I guess it's possible they just legitimately like this movie which is hard for me to understand, but it's just opinions.

I thought the last two were better. I felt it was lacking. And the antagonist was more funny than scary.
Still a cool movie worth seeing.

I have to say I thought it might be the best Bond movie ever. It was everything a Bond movie should be. The action at the beginning was just insane.

fell asleep in the movie

Soooo overhyped!!! nowhere near as good as Casino Royale. With a story that just dragged on and on by relying on that tired computer hacking plot device. And did they even hire a motion graphics shop this time for the opening? It was also awful! Some of the cinematography is stunning I"ll give it that at least.
- instrmntl0
I thought it was great. There wasn't too much gratuitous, drawn out fighting. The cinematography was amazing throughout. Some of the unrealistic scenes seemed more real thanks to sound. Great bond girls. Bardem was outstanding. This one was slightly more grittier, aesthetically as was the plot. It wasn't all shiny polished gadgets and office with chases and explosions.
- ORAZAL0
Yes, less shiny gadgets & offices but more explosions and motorcycles chases on rooftops (my only other Bond movie for reference being Casino Royale). And like others here have mentioned, the story is a pastiche of recent action movies that could have been better digested in isolated 5 minute segments.
Still, go see it. The photography is pretty and Bardem's acting a lot of fun. His acting is the only one that matched the unintended campiness of the dialogues. If you liked Home Alone...

I enjoyed this movie the least of the 3 with Daniel Craggy. The stripped back bond too much for me, and the plot, well... it's fucking shit really isn't it.
Hopefully next time they'll get a director who shoots beautifully, AND has vision.
- I think Mendes was just handed a script and told, "Shoot this piece of shit for us please".CygnusZero4
- totally, does look nice... but it's not enough.robthelad

Honestly, I thought the beginning was great...It just went downhill from there.

SPOLIER ALERT:
When Bond says, "a waste of good scotch" I must admit that my first thought was: "UM, AN INNOCENT WOMAN WAS JUST MURDERED. WITHOUT REASON. YOU JUST SLEPT WITH HER. LAST NIGHT." Certainly, her life was not worth less than an ounce of some mass-produced liquor that 007 could easily afford.
- Have you watch the last 2 Bond movies? He's heartless with women, they're disposable objects.CygnusZero4
- The fact that he didnt give a shit at all that she died is very typical of him. He values scotch more than women.CygnusZero4
- I thought it was weird that he identified her as a sex slave and then slept with her straight away...BaskerviIle
- Oh, we're supposed to think that's cool? I don't get it.nb
- ...surely she'd be riddled with disease?BaskerviIle
- What's an ounce of that scotch worth, a couple thousand?nb
- And, what is his motivation? If he doesn't value human life, why has he dedicated himself to MI6?nb
- Thats just how he is. They pointed it out in both previous movies, he doesnt give a shit about women.CygnusZero4
- He said in Casino he cant be half monk half hitman. He's just a heartless killer dedicated to his job. Has a few screws lose.CygnusZero4
- Oh. I thought Bond was supposed to be the perfect man or something. Now I just think he's a cunt.nb
- BTW a bottle of that Macallan is 6 grand. I guess thats worth more than a womans life to him.CygnusZero4
- he has to pretend to be a knob jockey so bardem's character thinks he's in with a shout.ebertzjaw
- CygnusZero40
I downloaded a very good quality cam copy of this and watched it again. Some of the visual are really stunning, some of it's a little bland.
But the story is still just way too thin to me. It's just about 1 guy who was pissed off that MI6 left him to die to save the lives of other agents and wanted revenge. That's all it was, and its a story we've seen in many other movies basically. There needed to be some other story elements to make this feel thicker and more original. The whole cyber terror thing is just lame. It's used in so many action movies now.
- In fact wasnt another Bond movie about cyber terror? World Is Not Enough or something?CygnusZero4

^ Craig is doing 2 more after this and that will probably be it for him. He'll be getting too old by then. I would guess they'll get on another one in a year or 2. Im sure he has other movies to shoot before the next Bond.
- ETM0
Daniel Craig's been wanting out almost as soon as he was in:
http://www.guardian.co.uk/film/2…- Craig is known to be a very arrogant dickhead, but like he said there he is under contract.CygnusZero4
- Really the perfect guy for Bond. he doesnt kill anyone but he's as much of an asshole as Bond is.CygnusZero4
- CyBrainX0
Adam West claims he was offered a role as Bond in the 60s, after Connery was done.
