just back from it.
phenomenal movie. one of the best bond movies ever.
but JESUS CHRIST why do these fucks make high budget action movies (see also: the latest mission impossible which had that hilarious letter passed around because of the use of verdana) and use bullshit fonts for location title cards? copperplate gothic? are you shitting me?
daniel craig isn't in the movie without wearing at least $10,000 in clothes. and bond is about as high styled of a spy this fictional universe has.
yet really. copperplate gothic. unbelievable. it's the only part of the movie you'll cringe at, though. anyway, carry on.

Ill see it tomorrow night. I really like Daniel Craig as Bond. He comes off as much more rugged and nasty than all previous Bond's which all were just skinny fancy pants types.

copperplate gothic looks pretty rad if you add a drop shadow to it. IT's easy: rasterize the font layer, double it, gaussian blur and then move the blurry layer down and to the right.

I cant even figure out why it's so highly rated by critics on rotten tomatoes. The story was so thin and uninteresting with no layers to it at all. This really reminded me of one of those goofy 90s Bond movies and got too far away from what I liked about the last 2. Oh well.
So far for the 3 big sequels I looked forward to most this year, 2 of them sucked so far, Skyfall and Dark Knight. Dark Knight was ood but not as amazing as I expected. Skyfail was just total meh. Ill see how Hobbit is next month.

So, are all the critics praising this solely based on it's comparison to other Bond films? If so, what does that say about the quality of other Bond films? And, why should it get critiqued only against itself and not at least others in the genre, not to mention all films in general?
This movie is completely mediocre. Silly, stupid, one-dimensional, predictable, and boring.
With one major exception: The photography is excellent. It's solid for start to finish, and has brilliant shining moments scattered throughout. Pay careful attention to the photography to avoid being bored in the theatre.
