update: I cleaned my linkedin, loaded some new work, followed some companies and it actually helped me get some job interviews,
Now from tomorrow I'll update my be_hance, haven't posted anything on it since 2010.. let see how it goes

In the near Future,
only a rare breed of creative will survive,
their online portfolio will be vetted by social critics on meta sites like facebookPedia, linked-in, be_hance, "google +V2 Beta 0.7"
they will not get compensated but will have plenty of likes, pokes and emoticons smily thingy to live like kings.

I just deleted my a/c. Most useless a/c I've ever had.

Why's that Craig?

It seems laughable... but bejance is already doing things like this. I recieved an email from them a few weeks ago about auditioning designers for a $10k job via projects in their bejance portfolios. The leading contenders would be judged by the amount of 'appreciations' a particular project got...
Now i'm glad they're not outright crowdsourcing/soliciting spec work but still... to merit the winning audition based on the amount of 'appreciations' a project gets is quite sad if you think about it.

because all I've had from linked in is daily spam asking me to join peoples networks. I just think it was outdated by the time it got popular.

It's been good for me with 3 full-time job offers (two of which I accepted). I've had no spam problems either...

So the question is...
What are the folks doing that are landing jobs that the rest of us earth-bound pigs are not?

i almost got 1 project from a client on LinkedIn 1 year ago.
- fadein110
they sell user data like no other social network... not to mention the endless 'spam'.

Man, i still get great offers thru Linkedin and have in the past received quite a few jobs. I never bothered with Be-hance and most my mates in LDN never use it. As a CD now if i want to check anyone out i go straight to their Linkedin profile. I do get the odd Be-hance portfolio every now and then but not much. I think Linkedin is great.

fyoucher1 - you can ad video to LinkedIn in a different way.
Create a google doc with a video in and then use the google docs app within LinkedIn.

I find it extremely useful.

i joined up on linked in years and years ago....and have found it to be a pretty great tool for keeping in touch with old colleagues etc...bouncing from one company to another, your circle of potential clients is always getting bigger and bigger.. i don't use it every day, but it's like any other tool i suppose...when i DO need it, it does the job it's designed to do remarkably well....

Anyone know if the LinkedIn Be-hance feature can feature video within a LinkedIn subpage? Or is it just static imagery?
