"People donated money to Livestrong instead of other cancer charities because they believed in him and what he portrayed himself to be. We now know that he benefitted financially to the tune of millions of dollars based upon that lie. He cheated other athletes who weren't breaking the rules or the law. He fraudulently sued for libel and won over a million dollars. He destroyed other athletes careers defending that lie. For over 12 years he has betrayed the sport of cycling and the spirit of honest athletic competition. He lied to the US government during official investigations. He involved other people in his lie causing them to commit criminal acts. These are only the crimes we know about. .And now that he's confessed, likely blaming the 'overwhelming competitiveness of professional sports' or team management pressure he'll use the confession loophole to get back into racing or triathalons. When you condone his actions because he raised money as a cancer survivor ask yourself if you want your children to poison their bodies, commit crimes, coerce others into committing crimes, benefit financially from these lies and crimes and get away with it because he cried on Oprah."

the seven trophies should be sitting on a shelf in Pfizer

I'm willing to put £50 on the guys who came 2nd 3rd 4th 5th.... in those years were all at it too!

MOB RULE. LETS PUNCH ALBUMS TO DEATH IN A FRENZY.

The seven who should have won, and enjoyed the spoils of victory, denied by a cheat. Tell them to get over it Albums. Tour De france winners enjoy a degree of fame that can bring a degree of financial security for a long time after the event. Some of those people will fall into obscurity, with no recognition, and no reward, and none of the benefits that Armstrong has enjoyed by stealing their victories.
Tell them not to get so strung out about a guy on a bike.
- The runner-ups were probably doping, and their runner-ups, and theirs too, and probably another 20x until you get the last guy who might be cleanmonospaced
- the last guy who might be clean.monospaced
- The loser was actually the winner.Horp

@albums he's not just cheated to win a bike race though, that along with several ego driven decisions mean he has broken several laws, he has defrauded a lot of money from both organisations and individuals, he has wrecked the careers/lives of several individuals in the cycling industry (for the terrible crime of taking a stand against the drugs cheats) to protect himself.
He should be confessing, but not to fuckng Oprah, he should be in front of committees, infront of judges and face to face with the people he has fucked over. And then he should face all the consequences any other person in his position would face.
A hug from Oprah makes nothing alright.

criminalise a guy on a bike...way to simplify an issue mate.
Tell that to the companies and governments who paid this bloke millions upon millions of dollars all on the basis of a lie. And that's discounting the fact he's clearly guilty of perjury, but will probably escape prosecution due to statute of limitations.
That's criminal enough for me.

Just change the 7 wins to 7* wins.
Problem solved and people can get back to their ever so important lives where they have enough spare time to criminalize a guy on a bike.
- If it wasn't so important, why count wins at all... Anyways last years news, #5, according to GQ: http://www.gq.com/en…Peter
- My point was in reference to the asterisk now in baseball recordsalbums

I suppose the question now has to be asked, did he really have cancer at all?

(AP) -- After a decade of denial, Lance Armstrong has finally come clean: He used performance-enhancing drugs to win the Tour de France.
The disgraced cyclist made the confession to Oprah Winfrey during an interview taped Monday, a person familiar with the situation told The Associated Press. The person spoke on condition of anonymity because the interview is to be broadcast Thursday on Winfrey's network.

"Armstrong will address the alleged doping scandal, years of accusations of cheating and charges of lying about the use of performance-enhancing drugs throughout his storied cycling career," Winfrey's network said in a statement.

I think allot of the hate comes from the accusations that he bribed people to let him win so he could scoop the big money prizes for a series of wins. On top of this he was also doping. If it is all true then he doesn't deserve any kind of respect.
- Bribery is a different thing, I have not heard that before your postformed

Considering the sport and the reputation that most, if not all, dope, this all seems ridiculous to me. Get all the other competitors to confess and I'll care, otherwise this is all just a witch hunt/publicity stunt.
If we are going to really care, then every sport should be scrutinized, every team that one anything with a major player taking anything should have their medal/trophy/title stripped.

It'll be really tough for him to confess just from the legal point of view - he's already being sued by a newspaper over here in the UK that he sued for libel a few years ago - that could cost him a million, plus it could open him up to criminal charges for various crimes.
