  Typographically speaking, the W they chose as the logo is awkward and not really ideal as a standalone grapheme. It belongs more as part of something else.

  From a branding perspective I saw little that addresses the nature of information, or the desire to become a public resource.

  It's a bit ridicule and lazy in their part to solve this approach by having a HUUUUUUUGE W and the same fucking search bar.

  I think language is one of wikipedia's biggest assest, why hide it into a drop down menu?

  It's also worth keeping in mind that making a bigger search box on wikipedia isn't going to make the wikipedia search function work better.

  At the minute Google is better at searching wikipedia than wikipedia is.

  A huge feature that works badly is still a bad feature

  • I always considered Wikipedia entries more of a Google search result than anything else actually– monospaced
