IF they only had a gun...
- ukit20
Like a lot of things in America, I think it's a case of the commercial interests more than anything.
The gun industry lobbies politicians who tell people guns are some kind of sacred right and we can't put any restrictions on it. All this resulting in...more gun sales. Rinse and repeat.
- it's disgusting and embarrassingmonospaced
- I think it more of the UN disarmament. This sacred right is why japan chose not invade the US main land during wwIIyurimon

The difference between guns and knives is paramount in this debate.
Consider this: Guns offer a human the ability to pull a trigger and instantly inflict deadly harm on someone—sometimes based on two seconds of rational or irrational thought.
Wielding a knife in a deadly manner requires a great deal of skill, strength, endurance and, most importantly, perseverance. One might actually start to regret their actions before their victim is mortally wounded.
Therefore, I posit that limiting access to firearms will indeed reduce the number of violent murders committed.
PS. Poisoning a large number of people (or any other small-scale WMD) is much more likely to be detectable and preventable than either firearms or sharp objects. I suggest we can remove those from this debate.

- It's difficult to plunge a knife into someone who's defending themselves and kill them.BrokenHD
- But any little pu$$y can pick up a gun, aim it at someone, and squeeze.BrokenHD
- The distance at which you can inflict harm is integral to this comparisonlocustsloth
- Even harder, after killing one person with a knife, to kill a second.monospaced

Gun nuts will say anything to excuse mass shootings as long as they get to keep their guns – for their own planned mass shootings? who knows.

In Portugal, near Lisbon, last year. In the news they said it was between Roma (Gypsies) and Africans.
Not so unusual...

USA now has more guns than it does people!
Yeah, we're NUMBER ONE!!!
Now all we need are a couple more mass murders and we can break into the top 10 list of highest firearm-related death-rate! We're right behind Mexico! Cmon USA, we can do it.

do you consider everyone with a gun a "gun freak"? even the responsible ones?
i have friends in Vegas and AZ who have AR's, Uzi's AK's crap like that but these guys are solid in the head, they have lives, real jobs, their hobby just consists of shooting in the desert or at the range, thats all. some of them are even cops, ex military or just regular dudes, but solid dudes, and I dont consider them gun freaks even though they choose to arm themselves way more than I choose to.to me this is a gun freak:
i knew a guy I went to school with (worked at AMD in the bay area, probably still works there) went to his house because he was selling an AK, figured I had the extra $$ at the time, ill go check it out, didnt buy though, it was just a waste on $$ in my opinion, but back to the point, dude had fucking sand bags on his windows in his basement, besides the AK47 he had an M16 or some shit converted to shoot Russian rounds "just in case the Russians took over he could use their bullets" those were his words exactly. now thats a gun freak to me. Boxes and Boxes of Russian ammo next to his bed, oh and heavy barrels to dissipate the heat, lol, i was like "dude wtf man?"- im a slow typer lolmoldero
- I know TBO, and I don't think he's capable of that kind of blind generalization, molderomonospaced
- was meant for http://www.qbn.com/t…
really slow typer I am :)moldero - I'll tell you something: I don't trust cops. I don't trust ex-military. I don't trust people who have guns. They get drunk and shoot people.boobs

- What constitutes a military grade assault weapon according to yougilgamush
- yea, nobody wants to answer me that, i'm not surprised. cool ambiguous phrases that mean nothing and are meant only to invoke an emotional responsegilgamush
- it's mental midgetry and has no merit,. there are many good points to be made for civilian disarmament and yet you stoop to buzz word reciting and name callinggilgamush
- who are you talking to, gargamel?monospaced
- Who do you think genius, the blue one. Why would you like to retortgilgamush
- + a couple commasgilgamush
- Yeah. Retort is that he left QBN years ago so you're basically talking to nobody. You'd know that if you had been here. , , , ,monospaced
- mmm yea, didn't look at the date on the post. well anyways, you cosigned. would you care to define what constitutes a military grade assault weapongilgamush
- a weapon designed to kill as many people as possible in the shortest amount of time with minimal effort, usually at close range, I'd saymonospaced
- fully automatic, etc, the kind of thing you might need in war, but would NEVER need for self defense, or huntingmonospaced
