It must be killing Mitt that this storm took away the spotlight. Christie rejects Mitt's overtures to come to New Jersey for a photo op and to hear Christie singing Obama's praises must have broken his hard little heart.
- Are you personal friends with Mitt?yurimon
- Are you, neocon?aaux
- I know where he lives...does that count as friends?monkeyshine

I think Christie sees the writing on the wall and realizes he is going to have to work with Obama for another couple of years.
I hope I am right.

Typical Romney Republican Fear-Mongering Response
The congressional campaign manager who confessed to spreading falsehoods on Twitter during Hurricane Sandy has resigned from Christopher Wright's New York City congressional campaign.
Shashank Tripathi, under the guise of his Twitter handle @ComfortablySmug, sent out several pieces of misinformation during the worst of the storm Monday. He is being blamed for spreading the now-widely debunked rumor that the New York Stock Exchange trading floor had been flooded with 3 feet of standing water. The rumor was eventually picked up by CNN and New York Magazine until NYSE officials shot it down.
In a message on his Twitter account late Tuesday, Tripathi apologized and offered his resignation on Wright's House campaign for the 12 th congressional district.Tripathi was first outed by BuzzFeed.
"I wish to offer the people of New York a sincere, humble and unconditional apology," Tripathi wrote. "During a natural disaster that threatened the entire city, I made a series of irresponsible and inaccurate tweets."
Other rumors included a false report that power would be shut down in all of Manhattan and that the New York subway would be closed for the entire week.
Tripathi has written for a finance blog for the Stone Street Advisors hedge fund under the same pseudonym, "ComfortablySmug."
Tripathi has been paid thousands of dollars as a consultant to the Wright campaign, according to BuzzFeed.Wright's campaign said in a statement that Tripathi's resignation was accepted and the chief of staff, Nick Mackey, will replace him as campaign manager.

They're so similiar that i cant help wonder which party would benefit. Would it be better for obama to have 4 more years to suck in the tanking economy and experience his delayed obamacare. Or would it be better for romney who said he could change things to take it on and fail. Or maybe theyre both for the same shit and jsut flip coins without any larger agenda
- i kind hope obama wins so another 4 years of fail might make people thing hm somethings not rightdeathboy

The larger, financial issues as well as foreign policy will mostly be the same under either of them.
For me, the big differences are the details - social issues (imposing their personal religious views on me and my family, cutting education) and continuing to redistribute wealth to the top.
So, until those are off the table, I can't even consider the R's. I wish I could, the "theory" behind conservatism appeals to me, they just chose to throw that away and focus on the extremes.

Why would you think the foreign policy and financial issues would be the same? I don't know how anyone could think that after living through the Bush administration.
Romney is just doing what he thinks he needs to win the election - appear moderate.

If you haven’t seen the clip of Mitt Romney getting into a heated discussion with the conservative talk radio guy (Jan Mikelson of WHO-Iowa) who dared to ask him about the whole Jesus will rule the Earth from Missouri belief of Mormonism, give it a whirl.
The guy is TOTALLY on his side, and explicitly tells him so, but Romney will have NONE of it! Hilarity ensues. Then in the final minute you get to hear exactly how he’s going to deal with a woman’s right to choose.

This illustrates why Romney will lose. He's an empty, mean-spirited shill.
- Smooth talking shill is much better Choice? Do like bush? This election is bush vs bush pick one.yurimon

For Romney or his campaign to take issue with Chris Christie praising Obama for his attention to the storm relief efforts is really sad. That an acting governor would praise the president for working with him has nothing to do with party or the election. It has to do with two leaders working together to solve a problem. Romney must be seething that he can't politicize the storm aftermath for his personal gain. Must be brutal to see our president do his job and care.
- What would you do for federal funding?yurimon

"How do you know the prez cares anything but his re-election?" - yurimon.
In reference to the above topic, who cares? Do you think Christie cares? Not if his state gets the funding needed. Fact is, he was doing his job. Period.
Romney has made an ass of himself - and shown his true character - at every turn (his overseas trip, Benghazi, now this). Had Obama tried to upstage Bush in a similar way, I'd be just as appalled.
- ..and republicans would have been screaming out that Obama's actions were no short of treason.monkeyshine
- Ahh the illusion of a 2 party system.. Yes. I used to watch wrestling at least I knew it was fake.yurimon
