Funny how all you left out this part of the tax return data released.
"The Romneys donated $4,020,772 to charity in 2011, amounting to nearly 30% of their income."
Oh sorry that's not what you want to read. LOL
How many of you donate 30% of your income?
- if 30% of my income was over $4 million, you can bet i'd donate at least that much. you have to think in proportions.colin_s
- yeah and 29% went to his cult. maybe if he actually gave to charities.ArmandoEstrada
- So now an initiative to have the government approve where someone donates their money, man you libs are amazing!whhipp
- Yes, most of it is to the mormon church — not exactly a charity in my book.rosem
- It's not a charitable donation, it's Cult Fees.mikotondria3
- Only an accountant would label tithing to the LDS church "charity."waterhouse
- charitable donations are used to offset tax liability as wellkota
- If only I could afford rent, food, and insurance on 70% of my income...Jacque
- He donated $4 million to a charity for a religion he holds a bishop level position in.TheBlueOne
- You guys just want to take all freedoms away if they dont coincide with how you want people to behave. You are all idiots!whhipp
- idiots!whhipp
- and bigots!whhipp
- 10% goes to the Mormon Church as a requirement.monospaced
- and don't get us started on the liberties he wants to take away because they don't adhere to Mormon doctrinemonospaced
- That money probably ends up right back in his pockets. Plus he gets the tax write off from it. He's probably profitting.Presta
- @presta said it, donations are tax write offsteh

Holy wow!
“When you have a fire in an aircraft, there’s no place to go, exactly,” he told the LA Times. “And you can’t find any oxygen from outside the aircraft to get in the aircraft, because the windows don’t open. I don’t know why they don’t do that. It’s a real problem.”
- ETM0
^ One of the best comments:
If airplane windows don't roll down, how does the pilot stick his head out the window to make sure his dog is okay?"

Holy Yes!
"UPS and FedEx are doing just fine, right? It's the Post Office that's always having problems." –attempting to make the case for government-run healthcare, while simultaneously undercutting his own argument, Portsmouth, N.H., Aug. 11, 2009
- Classic. Here is the problem, he even knows that government run is a disaster, but still pushes that shit on.whhipp
- how is the government run army works out? or the police & firefighter?zaq
- to my knowledge military has a HUGE budget- I would say its run very inefficiently. Police and Firefighters are state and locally run, so they dont really count, but are also rampant with fraud, manipulation and inefficiently as well. Not run well at all.whhipp
- run so they dont count, but they are inefficient, rampant with fraud and manipulation as well.whhipp
- Government run anything is destined to be inefficient due to the fact that it does not operate with a need for profit. Revenue is yours and my taxes. Its a sham. We should be restricting government not growing it!whhipp
- is yours and my taxes. Its a sham. We should be restricting government not growing it!whhipp
- by "need for profit", you mean financial profit?pizzafire
- Yes. If a private company cant break even or turn a profit, it fails and goes away. Government run programs have no such repercussion, they will just tax more and say its the cost of operating things. When in actuality they have hired way too many people, put in place way too much bureaucracy and mandate pay increases and retirement packages that the average citizen will never attain. Its a Joke, stop allowing this to continue.whhipp

He does speak the truth after all:
"The reforms we seek would bring greater competition, choice, savings and inefficiencies to our health care system."

whhipp - I don't know anyone that would argue that gov't is run well. I don't know anyone that doesn't agree that the retirement plans, compensation, endless job security, etc., etc., is all inefficient and unfair (to those of us that run our own businesses).
BUT to think that private industry is an answer because of "survival of the fittest" is naive and absurd. Why not just let everyone kill each other? That's survival of the fittest too.
Private industry has been more profitable than ever, CEO's and upper management are making exponentially greater personal profts, cash on books is higher than ever. And yet NOTHING gets down to the middle or bottom, NOTHING.
That, to me, is about as inefficient as you can get. That's absurd, that's unsustainable and abusive. That's private greed.
Anyone that proclaims one or the other, gov't or private, as the absolute answer is a fool. Like most things in life, there needs to be a balance between what is "fair" and good for the greater good, and personal, i.e. greed, motivation.
Sadly, there are no representatives, anywhere, that are preaching the middle.
- Actually Obama is a middle-ground candidate from a worldwide perspective. In America he's a socialist commie.CanHasQBN
