- nice, i know these are a newish model but in the goldtop with the 50s headstock and the pickguard on it looks real classy. one les paul would have likedkingsteven
- i'd have the pickguard right off and a bigsby b3 on there though :Dkingsteven
- Haha I would be tempted for a bigsby, I actually like the pickguard contrast thoNoggin
- it looks great, you should have a look at vibramate, lets you fit a b7 or b5 on there with no drilling (using the strap and TOM mounts)kingsteven
- i have b3 bigsbys on mine and use 'towner down tension bars' in the TOM tailpiece position as it lets me control the break angle to the bridgekingsteven

- I want a Flying V, but I could never live up to it. Its just so damn cool and commands respect and skill.desmo
- My friend sings very mellow folk type music and she uses one. Its so not a folky guitar but she pulls it off!fooler
- lovely but odd video and odd that they've aged them to look like the original 50 years later... he only had the v a year from new before he died :-/kingsteven
- Yeah, I guess he's more known for his Strat.fooler

- I was in a punk band in the early 90's and our guitarist had that Pink Steve Vai Jem with the grip. It was so uncool at the time but now I think back and thinkfooler
- it was the punkest thing we did.fooler
- Yeah Ibanez was more for hair metal back in the dayok_not_ok
- Hair metal and Alex Skolnik. I think all of his axes in the '80s and '90s were Ibanez.
And Alex Skolnik is waaaaay better than hair metal.Continuity - Dave Navarro played Ibanez when in early Jane's. That mattered to me back thenstoplying

Another great DG vid... I love everything about this video (except the bit where I burn all my guitars and give up) some of the old-school players tricks are gold.

- Picked up a jamman couple of weeks back, still working it out, that extra switch looks handy as beans!robthelad
- yeah, the switch makes it! - i have the digitech 3 way box but only need STOP (can't hack the double click)kingsteven
- don't use it much as a looper (there's one on the HX) use it more to trigger samples - you can set up one-shot and fadeout on stop with the librarian software.kingsteven

some advice needed from anyone familiar with 4-string instuments.
a million years ago I picked up a 1938 epiphone guitar at a flea market in connecticut for $20. It's been in my closet since. I'm currently restoring it with the intention of learning to play it. I'm a bass player but I do know enough basic guitar to strum along to your average pop song.
I understand that there are a number of tunings one can use on a 4-string, and each (apparently) having a unique characteristic. any recommendations from those who play?
(My initial attraction to the instrument was simply that it was a 4-string. And as a bass player -- 4-string good, more string bad.)
- great find!

I’m thinking of picking this up in a couple wks.
Does anyone play this? Anything I should know before buying?Total newbie
- Not thinking about it but likely will.notype
- Seems like a lot of money for your first guitar. Also, it's a weird choice (compared to a strat or acoustic or whatever).section_014
- never considered myself good enough at slide or finger picking to buy a resonator. but they do look cool as fuck and that one will probably hold its value.kingsteven

- Buy a cheap one for now and see if you like it.
