Anything by SRV gives me chills. NOBODY in blues has ever nailed a guitar sound and style and playing ability like him as far as I'm concerned. It's mesmerizing to watch and listen to. And his flamboyance, you kind of look at it and are a little taken aback, but then you realize he was so freaking awesome he could do whatever he wanted. If you don't know much about him, definitely read up on him.

Built my own lapsteel guitar now. During the process I found out that I am neither a crafty person nor have the right tools. The thing came out pretty... errrm... rough. Will not post pics! But it is playable! Whoever needs construction plans in Illustrator format feel free to mail me...

Ok, some guitarists that I like at the moment:
Firstly, Derek Trucks, his slide playing is immense, totally fresh, not like any other slide players, so much so that Clapton recruited him for his band. Love his indian influenced playing:
For those above who like SRV, check out Phillip Sayce, he used to play with Jeff Healy. He's like SRV on steroids, and he can sing:
Matt Schofield is a guy I've had some lessons from in the past, he's got a really fresh, jazz-tinged angle on blues guitar, and is british:
And finally, another old teacher of mine, the legendary, freakishly talented Guthrie Govan, who occasionally plays live with Dizzie Rascal:
