Coming to the realization that I just couldn't justify spending $3,500 on an ebony Gibson ES 335, I got the next best thing. An Epiphone Riviera Noel Gallagher edition. I'm not an Oasis fanboy at all, but the tone, build quality and specs on this guitar were what I've wanted for so many years. It arrived yesterday and it's fantastic.

- Nice choice! That subtle wood grain is beautiful.futurefood
- No shame in being an Oasis fan boy. Their first 2 records were amazing before they turned into complete twats.fooler

- Some things are just not meant to be kitbashed.Continuity
- Headstock lets it down.zardoz
- Well. If they *had* to go ahead with this horrific kitbash, then a Jackson-style headstock would probably have worked best.Continuity

- Nice tone. I'd be more inclined to use it as a lap steel. (volume pedal and Duesenberg Multibender)zardoz

I just visited Nashville for the first time, and at the airport by baggage claim they have a few rotating Gibson displays. One display was featuring an Ebony ES-335 semi-hollow body.
I saw it and was fixated. It's an absolutely gorgeous guitar and at only $3500 it can be mine. Not likely but maybe one day!
- Ebony 335 with a stock Bigsby B3 is my dream guitarkingsteven

- Lovely, would love a Jazz. My first bass was a Mexican Fender in sunburst.kingsteven
- I have 3 90s Japanese Fender basses tho. PB70US, Bass VI and Mustang. The P is stock with flats and its just perfection.kingsteven

old photo, the VI was refinished and upgraded shortly after <3kingsteven - Nice! love that 70s Pbass headstock.
Mine is the JB62. I almost decided on the Pbass.futurefood - I was first looking at a short scale Fender bass, but never tried one out. That Mustang looks sweet!futurefood
- i know a lot of guitarists choose short scale for their first bass but tbh the mustang isn't 'easier' to play if you're reasonably tall. it's surprisingly...kingsteven
- similar to the P in sound, i just have regular wound strings on it and set up low for the rattle.kingsteven
- I just gave away my fender jazz bass when i moved, i miss it, though i just no longer have the timeYakuZoku
- that things is beautifulYakuZoku
- Great bass! Japan Fenders are superb imho.fisheye
- ... I would put a precision neck on it, the jazz neck is to narrow at the nut for me..fisheye
- @kingsteven it is nothing like a P bass. Totally different animal. Because pickups configuration.fisheye

- Really want to try the Strymon DECO pedal.futurefood
- I really like it @future. Slapback delay, flanger/chorus like sound, the tape compression... it's all pretty subtle, but very versatileCalderone2000
- I eventually picked one up! It is so good. really belongs on every pedal board :Dfuturefood

- Change the nut and pins to Tusq it will improve the sound big time!ok_not_ok
- I bought a Yamaha FS820 last year in second hand for 120€ like new. Amazing sound for the price. Arm/Neck a bit too thin though.oey_oey
- Caused some discomfort in the beginning.
Otherwise great pick. Have fun!oey_oey - Change strings toonb
