My news sources are: www.aljazeera.com, www.democracynow.org, www.wbai.org, npr sometimes (though they are funded partially by monsanto or some *ish)
I agree with much of what GeorgesII stated. The only thing that I didn't understand was "who can fuckn tell those running black people apart" ? Do you mean to say... where in the world they actually are in the stock footage?
I haven't had a television since 2004, but there are a couple of sitcoms that I check out on Hulu to zone out of course-- tho (i mean who doesn't like liz lemon?), I feel TV will only control you if you let it. Unfortunately, older individuals that I know, watch for example ch7 news, where they are fed lies on the hour, and are absolutely being told what to think, and do... what to purchase, all in all... what is OF value, what to care about... and there is NO reasoning with them (have you tried? ha! good luck getting through)
When speaking about people in the world, I try not to use "us", "we", "our", statements, I stopped doing that a few years ago, because I, truly, am not a part of this. It's not where I come from (I mean that literally as well). Do you believe that you're responsible (even partially) for the worlds chaos?
GeorgesII, thanks for dropping that knowledge.

I guesss it's safe to say they know what they're doing.
At some point, you have to put your trust in science and corporations to guide us.

Japan, with assistance from the U.S. government, needs to do more to move spent fuel rods out of harm's way at the tsunami-stricken Fukushima Daiichi nuclear plant, said U.S. Senator Ron Wyden on Monday.
Wyden, a senior Democratic senator on the Senate Energy committee, toured the ruined Fukushima plant on April 6, and said the damage was far worse than he expected.
"Seeing the extent of the disaster first-hand during my visit conveyed the magnitude of this tragedy and the continuing risks and challenges in a way that news accounts cannot," said Wyden in a letter to Ichiro Fujisaki, Japan's ambassador to the United States.
Last March, an earthquake followed by a tsunami wrecked the Fukushima plant, causing the world's worst nuclear accident in 25 years and prompting global scrutiny of the safety of nuclear power plants.
Wyden said he was most worried about spent fuel rods stored in damaged pools adjacent to the ocean, and urged the Japanese government to accept international help to prevent further release of the radioactive material if another earthquake should happen.
In a statement on his website, Wyden said the only protection for the pools from another tsunami appeared to be "a small, makeshift sea wall erected out of bags of rock."

...TOKYO -- Japan shuts down its last working nuclear power reactor this weekend just over a year after a tsunami scarred the nation and if it survives the summer without major electricity shortages, producers fear the plants will stay offline for good.
The shutdown leaves Japan without nuclear power for the first time since 1970 and has put electricity producers on the defensive. Public opposition to nuclear power could become more deeply entrenched if non-nuclear generation proves enough to meet Japan's needs in the peak-demand summer months....

This is not in mainstream news.
"Work to restart two reactors in the western town of Ohi, which are the first ready to resume generating power, could begin as soon as this weekend now that the mayor signed off on the plan. Once the work begins, it takes about three weeks to get a reactor operating at full capacity. "

Isn't there a better way. I mean didn't Gov. Fukui hear about that dude who created power for his village? He should hire him. OK, I'm being snarky... but seriously. This is the best they could do?
