It is on Prison Planet...so take that with a grain of salt. But still...if it's 1/100th true....fuck. Maybe this is the year we all die! Rad.

actually yesterday we were discussing this exact thing with my conspiracy coworker and at the end we realize there'isn't shit we can do about it,
if you even try to raise the subject with "normal" people, they'll just look the other way because their attention span is on other matters,
well fuck them, they won't get invited to my Ark when shit comes down

georgesIII: this isn't to excuse the behavior, but i wonder how much of your observation (and i agree) --is to be blamed on society, and fucked up social constructs.

perhaps that coldness, or the the jerseyshores of the world just need a way to distract themselves from the truth, because it's so painful, and there's this powerlessness that can feel like a burden. so well... why not just drink PBR and smoke (ok maybe that's just Williamsburg bk, but you know what i mean)?

anyway, this is all bumbing me out. i want to be invited to your Ark... but... no "leaders", please. are you going to do an e-invite?

    @ ohhhhsnap (wonderfull nick)
you become cynical as fuck when you realize that no matter the amount of disgusting things that happen in this world and if it isn't reported by "real news" no one cares to dig into them

by the end of the first month after the tsunami, pretty much everyone in the "alternative" field knew were were being lied to.
strangely mainstream news stopped reporting the facts so it disappeared,

just like Libya, who care it's a clusterfuck there right now, who care the so called fuckn antiwar crowd cheered when nato (US) dropped bombs for peace,

just like Afghanistan, who cares if most afghans don't know 9/11 happens and the increase in poppy production increased 5000% since the taliban were chased away

just like Mexico, who care if the drug wars have killed more than 30.000 people in 4 years, but as long as you can toke it up, it doesn't matter.

Just like Siria, who care if the news reels where completely fabricated just like fuckn Libya and the rebels are beeing armed by foreign forces, who cares,

Just like sitting at my moms house watching france24 and seeing them tell the whole world a street intersection where experiencing heavy combat, yet no one was hearing shots or seeing anything.
the image were a mashup of black people running around, probably taken from stock videos of previous wars ( who can fuckn tell those running black people apart)

or even better, western union deciding to do a fireworks show for their 10 years anniversary, who fuckn decides to do a fuckn firework show in a war zone,
7 years later I still don't understand why.

so ohhhsnap, our behaviors are influenced by the idiot box, what we see is true, what they tell us is true and don't you dare question it.
society at large is influenced and controlled by television "anchors" who tell us how we should act, dress, think and live.

I find the continued use of Nuclear Power incredibly selfish and stupid. Why, when we have totally free, safe, clean and sustainable methods do humans persist in this insanity? It fucking baffles my mind.

There's nothing wrong with 'nuclear', it's just the inefficient 'borderline post-Victorian' usage of refined materials to boil water, leaving the bulk of energy unused along with a slagpile of highly noxious detritus that's the problem.

if it weren't for that whole Cold War thing, sense might've prevailed and the tech would've stayed gestating in labs for the additional 100 years before it reaches a practical maturation.

    • It's worth keeping in mind the current nuclear fuel cycle was chosen specifically for its weapon potential over safety.animatedgif

    ^

I wonder how they've accounted for the full lifespan of the waste products and the longetivities and stastical nebulousness of cancer rates in that bar graph?

    .

I don't at all, I know they simply haven't accounted for them.

    • Probably not totally accounted for, but its good to get some perspective.ribit

This thread got off topic a little.

I thought the question was, are we on the verge of a world ending nuclear meltdown or not?

btw don't want to sound too alarmist
but it's not called reactor four because there was only one,

reactor one, two, three have not been stabilized yet,
it's just that they are too radioactive to even come close and access them,

so no need to freak out,

    alarmist?
    from your article

"“It is so obvious the government is rushing to restart the Ohi reactors at any cost before the Tomari unit is shut,” Tomoko Murakami, a Tokyo-based nuclear analyst at the Institute of Energy Economics, Japan, said by phone today.

The shutdown of the Tomari No. 3 reactor would become a symbolic defeat for those promoting nuclear power, because Japan would become nuclear free, she said. “But it’s really stupid if that’s the reasons behind the rush.”

Japan’s liquefied natural gas imports rose to a record in 2011 as utilities have been forced to rely on fossil fuel power plants to replace idled reactors.

Fuel costs at nine regional utilities that own atomic plants may more than double to about 7 trillion yen ($86 billion) in the year ending March 2013 if reactors remain shut, according to the report by the trade and industry ministry. Kansai Electric’s fuel bills may rise by 800 billion yen to about 1.1 trillion yen, it said.

The Fukushima nuclear meltdowns poisoned an area about half the size of New York City with radiation fallout. About 160,000 people were forced to evacuate and many areas around the plant will be uninhabitable for decades. "

    • Isn't it funny how unaware the Bloomberg supporter is of his own choice of words. Some people never get it.canoe
