That sucks, regarding God I don't know, have you ever seen it/him? I don't think there's a bearded guy watching over us from the clouds, that's silly.

so sad, and I agree with fadein11, no need to blame mythical beings
- ORAZAL0
Oh I get it, they're christian. So I guess that'll teach them.

"An investigation to determine the cause of the crash is under way."
God better not leave town.

If there are any far superior beings.... do people honestly they give two flying shits?
Do you care about that group of 20 ants that were killed when the hose in your garden leaked into the crack of the patio?
People need to forget about 'God' and take power into our own hands.

so many families are currently hurting right now.. i cant imagine having to take a phone call like that.
it just makes me wrap my son up in bubble wrap and never let him go in a car, bus, train or anything faster than a bicycle ..

28 fatalities? There must be something we can't see in that photo of the bus because while it looks awful, it doesn't really look awful enough to have resulted in that many deaths.
- agreed.rodzilla
- It was traveling very fast.Morning_star
- lack of seat belts?autoflavour
- yes more than likely no seat belts, even a small crash would send all flyingernexbcn
- I bet the inside of the front of that bus is a gooey mess.elahon

I thought seatbelts were obligatory in the EU now? They have been in the UK since a similar tragedy around 20 years ago, where a minibus full of kids got destroyed on the way back from (I think) playing at the Albert Hall.
I'd say that bus is easily damaged enough to have done that much harm. All that metal and kinetic energy .. doesn't really bear thinking about.
- seat belts are, but enforcing a bus full of a school children to wear them on a trip home from the snow..autoflavour
- Seat belts on buses? I thought studies determined compartmentalization was safer.melq

@detritus: switzerland is not member oft the EU. So there are can be some differences. Realy sad evening yesterday for us swiss: first thre was a suicide-driver in Basel (1 person dead) and just after that, this happens in our mountains. But of course... "nothing" to what's happening day by day in other parts of the word.
- Ah, yes - of course. Although it's a Belgian bus, which I'd presume would be subject, ultimately, to EU law.detritus
