When I was younger, I attended church. That's when I had night terrors occasionally.
As I grew older, I stopped attending church. I've never had night terrors since.I've also had some extremely realistic sex dreams.

I usually get them detoxing. I dont see anything. more of i wake with a sense of something not good just outside my line of vision and i cant move, and feel a weight pressing on me. But had a few of them now to not panic and start concentrating on moving my feet to bring me out of that comatose like state. All in all theyre sketchy and i prefer not to have them. Remember coming out of one time swingin.

I think my dog had something like that a few months ago...
He usually sleeps in his crate near our bed, and some time around 6am we heard a crash (like he kicked the grate of the wall of his crate), so we both got up to check on him. Otis was laying on his side, but his eyes were open. He wouldn't move - I thought he was dead. My heart sank. After about 10 seconds he was looking at us, but still wasn't moving, then 5 seconds later his tail started wagging. but the rest of his body was still, then probably 10 seconds after that he popped up and stretched, and was 100% normal. We went to the park and he ran and played like a mad man.

Last night!
A woman stood by my bed, then came over close to my ear & whispered my name. My body felt impossibly heavy & all I could move was my eyes. I looked over & saw reflections of skulls moving along the wall & tried screaming to wake myself up.
Matt said I wasn't making any sense.
The end.

There was a month when i used to have that experience 3 times a week. It was so often i got tired of it. I pretty much when, "fuck it! do whatever you want. i'm just gonna sleeping". And it worked! O fell right back to sleep when i stop paying attention to it.
- yup. it gets more annoying than anything after a while. You just want to sleep!dopepope

happens to me every 3 weeks. Exactly as you described. I actually see more defined figures forming around me as it happens. Usually a regular dream progresses into something more and more frightening and intense, then I come out of it into that half awake, half asleep phase, and see demons and tall figures in the shadows. It's overwhelmingly terrifying, especially when they push on me or grab at me. One time I was pushed from my chest deep into the bed. I thought I was going to be crushed to death. But there was no pain. Just pressure. key is to not panic and relax. It all goes away and is fine. It's actually quite interesting once you realize it's nothing serious.

Has happened to me since I was younger. Less these days. Always happens when I'm sleeping on my back, never on my side.
- Someone must have done a study on this (back sleeping and dreams)... I'll have to do a search on google and see what comes up.theredmasque
- Ok yeah, I just looked it up and it's commonly associated with it.
theredmasque - with sleep paralysis / night terrors, i meantheredmasque

I also routinely have vivid, intense dreams - not night terrors. I guess I wake up and talk in the middle of the night too. Not so awesome for the girl I sleep next to. She hates it. One time she punched me to get me to snap out of it. Jerk.
