Randomly got sent another one... It's a newer model and seems to run faster. It came in a pink plastic box instead of the cardboard one my other 2 came in.

- I guess their ordering system messed up. I was on the wait list from the 2 suppliers - Decided to order one from each as friends may want them.orrinward2
- eacvh as friends may want them. One supplier had a stock issue and it delayed my order.orrinward2
- They followed up with another email asking me to reissue the order. No charge was taken, they have sent me 2 at separate times though.orrinward2

Detritus. If you're after one I have 2, and one isn't used at all.
I'd ask for the cost I paid plus postage. If you're in London I can hand one over.
The package has been opened but it's not been used.

nope, straight raspxbmc,
follow the pc or mac link,
flash the SD with the installer,
15 min later it's up and running,

"not really the point of the project is it?"
It exactly is a point of the project.
- no its not - its to enable people with limited access to learn to code. oh and check ya grammar dudefadein11
- Raspberry Pi was created by the engineers who built the core chip at Broadcomm. So... yeah, this was their plan.brandon_phillip

dam i had to dust this thread off? anyone doing homebrews or anything practical that you are willing to share?
I am trying to make a small photo booth , I have seen a few variations out of the PI.
I have a PI 3 , it was about $40 with shipping to TEXAS (yes we are big) . Comes with a micro usb ac adapter for power and that is all .
it has 4 usb ports and 1 hdmi , so off the bat i plug into any monitor and use any standard usb key board and mouse
what does it boot? NOTHING , you have to download an OS into a MICRO SD card . Once you pop that sucker into the PI and plug in power it BOOTS UP
I love this thing

Smaller computers and dev boards mean more stuff like this - http://www.ouya.tv/
- Built with Nvidia Tegra at the core. And they said the console was dead at E3.brandon_phillip

So far installed xbmc and using it as a media server
- Could you create an image of your xbmc install? Is it Raspbmc or Wheezy with XBMC?orrinward2

will update this thread as soon as I do something serious

That really good, great for developing countries, it really could do with a small hard drive, and 1 ram slot, and your away.

Looks very cool for installation video artwork or something. I have an idea I'd love to explore. Wish I had the time :p
