  Do you guys usually design websites in Photoshop, or do you use Indesign and transfer??

  I'll never understand how people can design website in InDesign. That program was built for print work.

  I try to stay within MS Word, it allows me complete control of the grid. This is where I feel most comfortable. Photoshop is so overrated!

  I'm beginning to think that designers should simply fucking learn CSS and HTML, do their own screenshot to HTML work.... and think outside the PSD2HTML mindset....

  .... that way they'd be less likely to make something that looks great in a comp, gets approved, but doesn't work well in an actual layout, with variable amounts of text, etc....

  The big laugh at our company is when we get entire website concepts and the final designs in InDesign. Our designers actually had to find a process of transferring to layered PSDs to make HTML templates. And it's fucking hilarious when clients (law firms) get all flabbergasted that we don't like InDesign files because they make no sense for the process. One once thought we must have not had good designers.

  I started designing websites on photoshop for a few years. I got tired of it because my computer didn't have enough ram to hold up the PSD files.. So moved to illustrator and used that for a longest time. And just recently I started using Fireworks.

  Next I'm going to move to Microsoft Expressions Web since adobe software applications are really over rated.

  to everyone who thinks Indesign isn't suited for web layouts doesn't know how to work with the program. Having received shitty results done with it is working with people who doesn't know how to work with it either.
