there is some glitch in hulu plus that i randomly came across while steaming hours of it while i was home sick. i don't have a paid account, but while i was streaming show after show, i came across one that is only available for paying members. thought it was strange, so itried to add all of the shows into my cue. to my surprise it worked. weird.
as far as netflix, it's pretty good for the shows i like (myth busters, top gear, mad men, breaking bad, walking dead, anthony bourdain along with several other cooking/travel) but for movies they are pretty shitty.
so to sum up netflix-good for older seasons of shows and a lot of content.
hulu-haven't tried the paid subscription

I got rid of cable and have been using Netflix through my PS3 for a few years. Netflix is good for older TV series (IT Crowd, Myth Busters, Top Gear, Battlestar Gallitica, Dexter etc etc) and Documentaries but their movie selection is pretty shitty.
I tried Hulu Plus through the PS3 (using my sisters log in info who was already paying for it anyway) and the streaming was so slow and paused every few minutes to catch up. That was annoying as hell and the Netflix streams flawlessly 95% of the time.
If I want to watch a new release that I'll watch on the iTV or Vudu. With all these options no wonder Hollywood Video and Blockbuster are bankrupt.

we're doing the same. got rid of cable since no one is around to watch it. although we do have our fav shows, so we went with netfix and hulu plus route.
Netflix we love. it is a great service. though XBOX live, the app works great and with the voice commands it's even better ("Xbox pause" and there you go paused show, "Xbox next episode" Voilà) we pay $8.00 a month, can view it on three Xbox accounts at once and on devices (tablets, phones). Love love the service.
Hulu Plus. I can't stand. the interface is counter productive. I find that getting to the show we want to watch are rarely available on the tv. ie. not all the shows on it are able to stream via television and it's not very clear which are which are not. (the simpsons to name one) The search is awful and the service does not work on typical mobile devices. doesn't work on my ipad1 or my androids gingerbread (device not supported) ?!?
saying that note we are going to drop hulu plus and replace it with http://www.playon.tv/ . has better shows ( http://www.playon.tv/channels ) and a life time buy in (50 bucks). it is a little more technical to set up (has to stream via WMC plugin) but ive gotten great reviews by people i know whom use it already.

Not sure if its been mentioned, but one thing I found out about hulu+ through roku (a friend told me this), some content is only available on PC's and not through players like the roku or Xbox. She wanted to watch something (forget what it was) and a message came up, can only be seen through a PC.
If thats true, its bullshit. Hulu+ is a paid product, they should release all their content if you a subscriber, through all sorts of portals.
Just putting it out there.

I wish the Apple TV would include a Hulu+ app.

I built a Home Theater PC and got a HD video card with an HDMI output and a tuner card. I hooked the tuner card up to an antenna and I plugged it into my 50" and ditched cable. Cancelling cable paid for the computer, wireless keyboard and mouse in about six months. Everything that isn't broadcast I get from Pirate Bay. They have an easy search and no monthly fees.
F*** cable AND Netflix.

No, not at this time. The VUDU service is only available in the United States.
FUCK YOU VUDU

yeah screw cable, i do Netflix, which is ok, i like that i can screen something and if i don't like it go on to the next.
was looking into hulu plus but you can't watch all the shows they have on their free service...wtf? it's weird. you would think they would give you access to their whole selection if you're paying. so screw them too. i'll just watch it for free. plus they have way too many commercials.
gonna check out VUDU and play on. both sound good. thanks fooler and plash! :)
