The £43,000 bear has fur made of real gold, and eyes made with sapphires and diamonds. Steiff, which claims to have made the world’s first ever teddy bear, made the golden bear to celebrate its 125th anniversary. The new bear has a mouth made of solid gold, fur made from gold thread and eyes with pupils of sapphire and irises made from 20 tiny diamonds. Only 125 editions of the collectable Jubilee Bear have been produced.

This is the two-person submersible that can descend to a depth of 1,000'. Providing access to underwater features such as coral reefs, shipwrecks, and the sea floor, a completely transparent, climate-controlled 3 1/4"-thick acrylic pressure sphere keeps explorers safe while dipping even into the mesopelagic zone, offering a chance to see exotic, bioluminescent species such as lanternfish. With a maximum speed of three knots, it is powered by a 120- and 24-volt battery bank that provide up to six hours of continuous undersea adventure.

Evoking memories of the original luxury car of the 1930s that fulfilled the American driver's desire for more automotive elegance than the Ford Model T that dominated the automobile market for 25 years because of its affordability, this pedal car is a miniature replica of the 1932 Ford Roadster that has inspired luxury car manufacturers and classic car enthusiasts for 70 years. This pedal car is hand built with a chain-drive system, and has pneumatic tires to ensure a more forgiving ride over bumps, while a ball joint steering mechanism provides secure handling.

During the 1930s and 40s, the name Hammacher Schlemmer would become synonymous with innovation. It was here that the world first encountered the pop-up toaster (1930), the electric razor (1934) and the steam iron (1948). Later, Hammacher Schlemmer would offer the first electric pencil sharpener, food processor, electric can opener and automatic coffee maker. Other notable introductions include the first microwave oven (1968), telephone answering machine (1968) and cordless telephone (1975). At their introduction, these products were viewed by many as intriguing gadgets, but the company saw them as functional problem solvers.
