Melbourne is the centre for Australian Rules Football, and it's fans. That's a good a reason as any to stay away.

1) People are a bit too footy mad
2) You have to drive a while to find a proper beach
3) The trains are shit if you have to catch them (trams ftw)
Thats all I can think of.. Can think of 10 reasons TO move to Melbourne though.
I think the weather is good, blues skies get a bit boring after a while.. (Im in Perth).

keep going coz i need more reasons to avoid moving here...
all I have found is
1.Beer is equivalent to £6.50 a pint
2. My eggs benedict this morning cost me equivalent to £11
3. There's sod all ducks in the Merri Creek - well 3 that I saw in an hour
4. People like to say "hello" more often than my London desires can take
5. It's full of nice wanna be peace lovers eating frikn nice organic vege food and saying 'hello'
6. There's a serious lack of trendy fixed wheel bikes riden by the peace loving vegetarians (ones that eat meat on barbies that is)
7. Beer from the drive-thru bottle shop cost me equivalent to £3 for 300ml
8. There's no ozone (which is a big plus as all the pollution can escape)
9. Trains toot too many times at stations. Toot arrive, toot standing, toot leaving - there should be an over toot law introduced
10. This one really gets me... you have to park in the direction of the flowing traffic - even in suburbs, on quiet streets, when you might wish to go that way when leaving - if you dont you get fined! ???!11a. - No way near as good as London!
11b. - No way near as good as London!- hello!!! *wavesdrgs
- Sounds like you've made your decision... PLUS no ducks in Merri Creek... Move back to Londiniumrobulation

I'm not australian, but I did talk to a woman from Australia once who told me how much harder it was to start a business there than it is here.....
is this true?
Does it vary by province / city?
Or was she just talking out of her bum?
