Why dont they just call the streaming service netflix, then the dvd rental service homeflix? If they are insistent about changing the name, at least have something that makes more sense and is less confusing.
- That's a million dollar idea!mg33
- Because HomeFlix is a real Estate virtual tour company.ETM

who cares, companies do this all the time, what's the fucking difference. If Netflix were bought out, they'd be some arm of another company anyway. Pshhhhhhhhh....

Not only is the name change stupid, but the netflix streaming is incomplete. If that is their main service they want to push now, well they might want to think about finishing it first. Dark Knight isnt even up there. So their main service doesnt even have the 2nd most successful movie ever made? Uhhh....

Brand poison.

They should've called it Coaster, cause that's what all DVDs will be used for.

The thing that's very dumb and inconvenient about this is that, I'm assuming disc and streaming queues will be managed separately now and have no connection between the two.
So, I guess we won't be able to go through the disc list online and simply watch the ones that are available streaming. Maintaining two separate lists will be idiotic at best, and total bullshit at worst.

I got that in my emails this morning.

I got it and sent in a claim form online. Easy. Let's see if anything comes about from it end of February. Hopefully will get some type of subscription discount.

I imagine that they have to separate the two versions of business (DVDs and Streaming) so they can make better agreements with the studios. That's why streaming has less choices because they have to make big agreements to allow movies to be streamed. With DVDs all they have to do is buy them and mail them out. There is much more competition with other streaming services that lock out other companies like Netflix.

Got that email this morning too. Was kinda weird, thought it was spam at first.
Anyone cancelling their Home DVD subscription and just going the streaming route? Thinking about it, need some opinions.

If this is really the way they're going, and the Netflix name is only attached to the streaming service, they had better get their whole catalogue up on that shit. How about some pay-per-view options (aka, rentals)?
