This has been a huge problem for a while and I've done some googling without success. Typing response in Photoshop is soooo slow for me. I have a an 8 core Mac Pro with 16 gigs of ram. Any body know why the hell this is happening?

corrupt font? a million fonts loaded in your font book (or whatever type program you keep your fonts in)?

I've scanned the fonts and haven't been able to find a corruption but who knows. I won't say I don't have a lot of fonts loaded but it seems ridiculous that this machine can't handle it. Maybe it's Suitcase Fusion. That program seems like a memory hog.

this is my best guess. especially since i've had this happen to me. does it happen with illustrator as well?

I appreciate it. I'm retrying this stuff now. Not slower in Illy that i notice. PSD is just a dog.
