So i decided to take some marketing courses at NYU and i have to find a place to live from november until the end of february 2012. Can you suggest me what to do? I mean .. i need to know how to find a house (a studio would be fine), how much budget for extras (food, pub, museums, maybe some insurance? ...) i have to calculate, and so on.
Any advise would be helpful! Thanks!

I drink 3x more than I did before I moved to NYC, so whatever you're drinking now, double/triple your budget.
Cocktails are usually $10-12, beer $5-8/pint.

Which program are you taking at NYU?
As for budget:
Average of $4000 a month would be good.
- rent $2000-2500
- transport $110-200
- food $600-1200
- entertainment $300-1200
- insurance $50-100
- utilities $40-80
- TV/internet $80-120Capital cost $1000-3000 (bed / tv / desk / misc)
- I love the range for entertainment.bulletfactory
- Add monospaced at Scores, you get $2000-10000 a month.JSK
- DONT FORGET STRIP JOINTS...
OSFA - lol 2000-2500 sounds hefty but i guess if we are talking "house"erikjonsson
- no. we are talking 400 square feet for that price. so if you live in a really tiny house...surelvl_13

Also, security deposit for your short term rental. Prepare 2 months rent up front.
(the capital cost wouldn't apply to the short term furnished rental but rent would be higher)

Thank you guys.
The course is Digital Media Marketing
http://www.scps.nyu.edu/areas-of…I would prefer a furnished flat. Do you think would be better to search it when i'll be there? Do you know any website or link? Like Craiglist, ...
What kind of insurance are you talking about? I will keep my actual healthy insurance that cover all over the world.
And for the rest i know it depends on me .. :-)- I think that course is decent if you have never been exposed to digital marketing.JSK

Where are you from? Do you think that the courses will benefit you?
Try Craigslist. You can try to get a long term from AirBNB but that would be hard.
I was thinking about apartment rental insurance. Health insurance would to expensive. Try traveler health insurance.

10 x better/worse than Vegas for four days - but equally as expensive - enjoy
