Saw it again last night, really tried to see if I would catch on to anything I may have missed the first time. Not really. It's just plain confusing. In a cool way though. Like someone mentioned before, this is why everyone's talking about it, to try and figure it out.
One thing I did notice though, is that a few times they refer to the dome as a "pyramid", but it clearly looks nothing like a pyramid. I wonder if Ridley and the writers were trying to hint at something about the Egyptian pyramids. Terraforming? Weapons manufacturing? Tombs of the "gods". Interesting, though, and there's some of this that pops up in a couple episodes of Ancient Aliens. I wonder. Nah. Probably not.
Anyways, just as awesome the second time seeing it.

It did have so much promise. To me, it was lost with the details - flying for years and then just landing "oh, we better get there and do this fast, storm's coming". Entering an alien world without any research, taking your helmets off, separating, etc., etc., etc.
It's like the just couldn't bridge ideas and just said 'aw, hell, no one will notice this stupid move'. But they did.
A shame, still many parts are captivating, but as a whole, it was a massive disappointment.

Went to see this to an IMAX 3D theater in vegas, and "meh" is my personal opinion for this movie. Visual effects are REALLY GOOD, and the 3D was amazing, I'm not a fan of sci-fi in general so maybe that's why I wasn't that much into it. The lead role is played by the same chick that does the dragon tattoo girl, she is awesome, hoping to see her in more movies.
The vehicles, the use of trapcode shit all over the film is really well done, but the story was a bit lagging for me.
I can see why some sci-fi peeps are all over this though...

Breat Easton Ellis: "When movies deliver the atmosphere and the grandeur and the precision of something like Prometheus: the flaws in the script DO. NOT. MATTER. "
- I hate whiny fanboys too, and I get his point, but it wasn't precise and it does simply fall a little flatbiusness
- I'm sure that guy's important or whatever but that's total horseshit.digitdaily
- You don't know who Bret Easton Ellis is? *smh - read a book will yah...doktornomore

Certain things I appreciated more on the second time. Script wise it is true that it's a big fuck up in the last 30 mins... almost like they run out of time.
But if you just sit down and enjoy the film it provides other things.

"Saw it in 3D and hate how much the glasses dull the colours down."
Agreed, it added nothing and I found myself taking them off during the non-3D parts because it ruined the colours.

I saw it, thought it was alright. It's a movie, and I'm a man who wants to be entertained. I feel no desire to 'beat' the film by pointing out plot holes and such. Some stuff's good, some stuff's shit but ultimately a lot of people who are a lot smarter (and richer) than me made it so fair play to all involved whatever the weather.

Yeah well Ridley Scott is in his mid-70s. Id love to see a sequel with her making it to the Engineer home world with David, but not getting my hopes up.
