I watched this other night, it was not bad at all. I would like to see "The Engineers" character expanded upon in future movies.
- Agreed. Better then interstellarhotroddy
- Script was the worst. so full of holes, and characters doing thing no one would do, but the story needs them to do itrobotinc
- Thats Damon Lindelof for yourobotinc
- lacked a concept - i.e lone female survivor on a drifting spacecraft trying to survive/get home, can't really top the that can you?fadein11
- It should have been about the engineers and how they ended up landing on the planet in the first Alien. or even better:robotinc
- exist in the same world, but don't connect to the alien movies at allrobotinc

I've happened upon this movie a couple of times on TV in the last year and every time I watch with hopes that I missed something or that it will redeem itself. It never does. I'm such a sci-fi fan and it still blows my mind how much thought WASN'T put into this. While picking on small plot holes is acceptable, this film goes beyond that: it is barely being held together with weak threads, and that's being nice. I can't even imagine how they could "fix" the trajectory they started with this.

Genuinely the only bits about this film that really bothered me were the zombie and I don't think it needed an actual Alien alien at the end.
Totally felt like executive meddling,
"Oh its a bit slow at this point can we get a monster in here?"
"Isn't this meant to be an Alien film? where's my alien?"

I saw it, thought it was alright. It's a movie, and I'm a man who wants to be entertained. I feel no desire to 'beat' the film by pointing out plot holes and such. Some stuff's good, some stuff's shit but ultimately a lot of people who are a lot smarter (and richer) than me made it so fair play to all involved whatever the weather.

It did have so much promise. To me, it was lost with the details - flying for years and then just landing "oh, we better get there and do this fast, storm's coming". Entering an alien world without any research, taking your helmets off, separating, etc., etc., etc.
It's like the just couldn't bridge ideas and just said 'aw, hell, no one will notice this stupid move'. But they did.
A shame, still many parts are captivating, but as a whole, it was a massive disappointment.
