just helped launch a site for a new jewelry line...would love to get feedback on the site and/or the jewelry itself. I built the site with shopify using my own html and css...I am a flash guy so this was my first spin at a non-flash site.
be honest, but be kind.
http://shop.vnunes.com/...and if you like what you see, feel free to do some shopping ; )
thanks

I've designed more than my share of stores...looks good here.
I will say on the sub-pages your "categories" and "collections" headers aren't aligned. Looks f'd up on safari/mac.
Also the top nav items are spaced a bit too close for my taste.
My only gripes.

Also, on the hover images...don't use separate images because of the "flash" of loading when you rollover.
Put the inactive/active items into one image, then swap background position instead of image on load. Google "css sprites" for info on the technique.

Can you compress the images? they all progressively download for me, I don't think compression would ruin the experience.

Those two large banners on the front page are too large.
Really, they totally drown out everything whilst lowering the tone.Mailing List submit button is on a white background.
Type feels very unfinished and slipshod - mix of Museo and Futura is too close - consider making them the exact same, with weights - or change one to something distinctly different from 'tother.
Product landing page is uninspiring and templated.
Side navigation is clunky, off-centre, slapdash.Collections page section heading branding is dire - Why does the reflection in 'Wave' not feature any waves? The 'Premier Collection' one is ... horrid. Sorry, it just is.
.. the rest of the site feels templated and unfinished.
It feels like either your CMS is horrifically limiting, or you're not trying hard enough to push it.
.
The lower-case t in Museo is goddamn dreadful, though that's not your fault, I understand. Still, it is.

use 2 type families
use 2 type sizes
use only a white or the palest pale of backgrounds for all pages
use color you've selected for type
use consistent images (same style/scale) i.e. same photo shoot
simplify layout
choose 1 thumbnail size
increase line spacing everywhere
remove drop shadow
use consistent logo color
use consistent type color
simplify
