I live in Missouri, a town in Kansas was recently destroyed, and now Joplin looks like a devastated war zone. I was thinking about asking Scarabin for some of those beautiful stickers to place in town, but if this keeps up there won't be anyone around to see them. :(

i remember the first tornado drill i ever experienced. scared me shitless and i ended up getting a fever. for a couple of days i hallucinated hearing sirens and the sound of tornadoes. i'm greatful though 8 years i was there not once did a tornado touched down near where i lived.

I was about 2 miles from a touchdown, baseball sized hail was falling, the sky was black, and there was the rumbling, like nothing else i have ever heard. I drove though the path after the fact, there was large debris on the interstate in the trees, overturned cars and exploded buildings. That's as close as i hope i ever get to a tornado, pure destruction.

Jeez, I used to live in Joplin, all the stuff on the TV smashed to shit is like my old local shops, the walmart is where I did my grocery shopping, the restaurants and stores up and down there, I've been in them hundreds of times - the little house I used to live in wouldn't have stood a chance. We've got friends from there coming to stay with us as they have no power. Several of my wife's friends have totally lost their houses - I can't believe how much of the town is gone, street after street after block just fucked up beyond recognition...unreal.

I watched the Storm Chasers dash cam feeds last night as this was going down. It was both frightening and tragic.
Storms expected all week.

I lived in MO all of my life (until last year) - we had tornadoes all the time, in fact, most of the time, people don't bother to seek shelter. They rarely touch down, at least in my town.
This one, was insane, my heart goes out to all the families in the path of those storms.

My God... so many deaths in the midwest this season... it's hard to focus on anything else in life when you hear stories like the ones coming out this morning... ... I too lived in MO. for years... you hear the sirens but you don't react like you should (as someone stated above) because you do get used to 'false warnings' where a twister may have been seen but never came near the ground.
Really sad... my love, MO.

Unbelievable..I've been down these streets and in these stores and houses time and again, but now. Man, it just doesn't look survivable if you weren't in a basement..
