We are getting ready to move to a new office and as the design and dev dept. grow we are getting more say in how the office should look and function. So, I am trying to put together an idea of how most agencies and "creative" departments work to present when I start requesting changes.
What sort of office do you work in?
Do you sit in cubicles or desks (one person or many)?
Are you all offices or open floor plan?
Where do you do reviews?
What sort of perks do you have?
anything you think is a necessity for design and dev firms?Any info or images you can give is really helpful. I don't want to just use sites like "thisaintnotdisco.com" to prove my points.

Cubicles ... oh sorry "work areas" (my boss hates the term cubicle), does equal privacy though.
Conference room for reviews.

creatives and account peeps all together in an open office with desks. No cubes. Two conference areas for meetings.

Right now:
Corporate
Offices
Conference rooms
...not a big fan for design collaboration, but great to listen to music by myself.... but that will changes in 2 weeks to:
Agency
Open floor plan
flanking conference rooms around the open desks.

We just moved into a new space with an open floorplan. The CEO doesn't even have an office. My ECD sits 2 seats away.

Directors and above, offices.
Designers/Copywriters/Managers/e... cove-like work areas flanking the hall, 2 people per area.
Have a large table in an open area for creative meetings/critiques and conference rooms for larger meetings or meetings that require a monitor.

Just create your office like every other agency out there. Its all cookie cutter for a reason ;)
- open concept
- giant mural with typography or graffiti treatment
- lots of exposed brick or giant wood beamsBut if you want to be really different: How about 'personal fluffers' for those late nights at the office.
