I envy you I really do. I have been burning the midnight oil for well over a month now to the point where I really needed to figure out how i can sleep 4-5 hours a night and still not be a zombie.
Because even after i got a break and crashed I still didn't seem right.
I started using this http://mdlabs.se/sleepcycle/
Sleep cycle for the iphone, you put it in your bed and it pulls you out of sleep rather than jolts you out of bed. It really works.Then when I get home at 7 or 8pm I take an hour nap and then work again until 3 or 4 am.
This is a pretty good article on napping.
You may just need a nap to help you reset.

i envy at people who can sleep for lengths of time like that. i don't think i have ever slept for more than 8 hours.

I just slept 18 hours, but I had food poisoning this week and haven't had any real sleep since Tuesday.
more sleep != more awake after. too much makes you more tired if you don't need it. I read somewhere that however sleep deprived you are, one full good night's rest should reset you back to 'normal.'

@thisfreelancelife, I'm in a similar situation, generally 4-5 hours, sometimes spending the first hour in bed just figuring out what i have to prioritize first thing... ever seen these? (zeo personal sleep coach)... I've been thinking about getting one, but the thought of having to wear that band on my head (and having to deal with more technology in my life) has stopped me going for it. It actually tracks the quality of your sleep as well as the hours.
