I don't get it. How does a site like this sell shoes? Seems more like agency wankery and a waste of marketing dollars.
The site is nice, just don't see how Nike can justify wasting money on it.
- nike knows their customers.SteveJobs
- bo knows diddley.SteveJobs
- Has nothing to do with knowing your customers.CuriousGeorge

fantastic..
Not to blow the flash horn again but..
just compare this to their HTML5 experiences.. they downright look flat, static, un-engaging.. this looks alive and beautiful..
Totally different experience.
- http://www.nevermind… I'm not hating on flash, I think this site is great, but your statement is BS, Bozza.Andrew_D
- Even the one you posted feels flat.. they are using divs and tweening them on mouse..that's the best JS/Jquery can do really.. some webkit-transforms and that's it..Boz
- hat's the best JS/Jquery can do really.. some webkit-transforms and that's it..Boz
- I mean you can make pretty sites with it too..but for true rich interactive stuff that works on all browsers, Flash still produces beautiful sites.Boz

- I think they both can live in glorious harmony!Andrew_D

CuriousGeorge,
It's called marketing for a reason, it's raising brand awareness and builds reputation behind the product they want to sell.. and they are doing it in a hip-hop kind of way because they've estimated that's their audience. A lot of people buys Nike shoes for the fashion appeal as well as sport performance..
I don't think it's that hard to understand.

Cut the guy some slack.. he's Curious

@Boz answered it already but if you looking beyond the "agency" wankery, there's more information there's information about that shoe and why it looks the way it does than most places give you about their product
