I don't recall anyone being offended or concerned about the Haiti earthquake posters.

i remember designing and making several 9/11 tribute shirts and posters for clients at a job i had during 9/11. these were meant as community glue... things to wear/hang in the office
i doubt it's shameless arrogant self promotion if you don't know who made the posters. it's a reaction, a way to vent and deal with something we are all dealing with internally. few, very few of the posters i have seen floating around are even being resold.
lumping artists together in such an ignorant fashion leads to irrelevant conversations such as this one

Did you try to commercialize them?
How tasteful where the images? The arrogance stems from the fact that John Q. College thinks he has enough taste to pull off something for a current world disaster and then distribute them through sales.
- i've seen only 1 poster from this community for sale.... signalnoisetopic

" Did we see 9-11 donation shirts of the towers falling?"
- DibecThe day 911 happened I was sitting in the office in Scotland creating a game which involved bowling a haggis at the skyline of NY to knock down the buildings. The twin towers were at the front of the "building-bowling-pin-triangle".
This game was for a laugh to promote Scottish Businesses in the US for a big Expo that was happening in NY.Needless to say as soon as I heard and saw the news of what was happening in NY the game was scrapped!
Dibec, are you suggesting I should've carried on and launched it as a charity fundraiser?
