I love listening to music on headphones and producing music for headphones. I love all the intricate panning, detail, and space that you can only get with a nice pair of headphones in a quiet room.
That's all, carry on. :)

Got these about 4 months ago – best pair, and best made pair I have ever owned hands down.

These are awesome. Comfort and sound wise.... surprised more people don't wear them.

Sennheiser HD-25sp1
I have used these for DJing in the club for the past 5-6 years. Whenever you see sportscasters and news people talking on television while wearing headphones, they're using the same model with a boom microphone attached. These headphones sound amazing and are almost indestructible. Highly recommended.- ding ding ding...we have a winner. Or the HD-280's possiblysection_014

One feature that I really look for in a pair of headphones is having one cord coming out of the earpiece instead of two cords in each earpiece. I know its a small detail, but I always find two cords dangling down distracting.

Recently switched from the MDR700
to the HD380 pro
I found both to be durable, and comfortable to use for long hours (maybe Sony's ones are better for this) but on the Sennheiser's allowed me to hear bass frequencies that were not there on the Sony's, which blew my mind, since they are supposedly on a similar catergory

Any of you all have recommendations on a really good headphone? Really would like to get something that's noise canceling (to create a utopia away from loud neighbors) now that I can splurge a little.

Had pair of these for a few years now, used daily for hours on end.
Sennheiser HD598's
Great sound, VERY comfortable. They deliver a truer sound so not good for people who want excessive bass. Only complaint is that recently the leather on the headband cushion has come undone from mine and needed to be glued back in.

http://www.bowers-wilkins.co.uk/…Don't bother with noise-cancelling, unless you *really* need it. Better to block out sound with over-ear or closed type headphones. You'll get much better sound quality for your money.
