Ive never heard of anyone mention matt furey (fucking cool name) before, im a fan of his, he does some awesome training. You cant argue with his results.

You seen it when he does a flat feet bridge like this -

but with 2 people sat on him? so ridiculous! gotta love kettle bell training too.

    • yes good stuff and it works for me so I'm happy.bzsaw

I've suffered from them for about 10 years now, usually once every month or so. They last on/off for almost exactly 3 days. Painkillers sometimes work if I get it right at the beginning, otherwise they just make life partially tolerable for a few hours (then wear off and back to go).

What I've found - dehydration is a good starting cause along with stress. I drink tons of coffee, so I have to consciously drink tons more of water.

I never had them, never a hangover headache, never anything until I was 30, right when I graduated grad school, started a mediocre job and lost 3 years of savings in the dotcom bust. Coincidence?

Similar story to others here. I used to get migraine's about every 2–4 weeks.

I had my eyes tested, and even though they are pretty good after a week of headaches from adjusting to them my migraine frequency dropped to about 1 every 12 weeks. I started karate about a year later and the stretching etc. has helped tremendously. I haven't had a migraine in about 2 years now. Shoulder and neck stiffness is definitely something I work on constantly though.

I've also had what the docs called Histamine headaches on a couple of occasions. Apparently I'm allergic to a very particular, and thankfully rare, type of histamine. Histamine headaches strike extremely suddenly and taken my vision away within 10 seconds, and leave me vomiting for hours. Only extreme doses of anti-histamine will stop me vomiting uncontrollably.

Keep anti-histamines around at all times, drink plenty of water, exercise and stretch regularly and definitely get your eyes tested.

I got migraines from time to time. Specially when Iam in a stressed period. Some type of red wine give me migraines, and when I do intense physical activities when its cold outside. I have no tricks, I let them pass. They are not super heavy tho, but sometimes yes.

Yeah, had the worst one ever a few weeks ago thought I was going to have a brain hemorrhage. Got it from a similar thing to bzsaw ^. Took codeines but didn't do a thing. Was throwing up so much from the pain I couldn't keep anything down anyway. My boyfriend ended up calling an ambulance, took a while for the intravenous pain killers to work once I got to the hopistal but all up about 7 hours of unbearable agony.
Usually hit it early with 2 strong pain killers once the eye flickering starts but left that one too long.
That back bend looks extreme bzsaw but I might give it a go if it's helped for you.

Also I used to get Migraines heaps when I was younger but found out through allergy tests it was triggered by oranges and peanuts, never realised because the symptoms didn't appear for a couple of days (apparently oranges are common trigger). Used to have migraines every few weeks but now that I avoid those only about every 6 months when my neck muscles are strained.

Kind of crazy how many people they affect!

Thanks for all the info, some good stuff to look into. Keep it coming!

I had them since I was 6. Took everything from maxalt to nasal sprays to needles. I still get the aura . What I wasn't doing is proper diet and exercise.

I was an active kid but my parents fed me chips, candy not the best foods.
Forget coffee! get on a fresh foods diet. Its in every migraine med if you drink it all the time nothing will work, Do yoga keep the muscles loose, do cardio, run job martial arts.

    Clear your mind and meditate.

    Are you left handed?
Whats your signs? chinese and greek?

My Mom was born February 6, 1963. She is right handed. She currently does not exercise too much because of the headaches although I too am sure that would help. The problem is getting her in a better place so she feels like it's possible? It took me a few months to convince her to try gluten free.

She does drink a lot of coffee - it is decaffeinated but I am not too psyched on the concept..

    • coffee has to go! A must! no gluten! NO GLUTEN! Diet is 90% of being migraine free74LEO
    • Graf! Trust me you must stop drinking coffee. Drink oolong tea74LEO
    • NO DECAF!74LEO
    • That goes for soda, redbulls everything and anything with high sugar and caf.74LEO

there are apparently different type of migraines. my case is apparently genetics. my mom has them too.

a couple of minutes before I get one, i'd get dizzy and start losing my eyesight.... hard to explain. it's like if you press hard enough on your eyes you see this weird grey numb stars...anyway. that starts off in the top right corner of my eye sight. then it creeps in and sweeps across in a minute or so to completely cover my eyesight. I literally become blind.

as soon as I'm completely "blind", my eyesight suddenly returns in a snap. that's when the migraine starts.

was told by a friend, who is a doctor, that this is the textbook case of heritable migraines related to some sort of cardiac problem. my artery contracts and blood circulation to the head slows down (loss of eye sight and dizziness) and then my artery suddenly open up and the rush of blood to the head is when the migraine starts.

best way to counter the migraine is try to grab something to eat quickly while I'm dizzy + blind. swallow at least 4 to 5 extra strength advils and go to bed. the ONLY way I found that I can get pass my migraines.
