Making the switch this week... just have to decide between HTC Sensation or Galaxy S2...
Anybody tried the sensation? Haven't heard too many reports...

- right..because 100s competing devices is retarded when you can just have one shit thing to choose from and give all your money to one company. Brilliant.Boz

I would bet that most of the 'off topic super opinionated' back and forth in these threads are people who have not thoroughly tested a range of either Android devices and systems or iOS devices and systems.
They have one. They have had a really positive experience with it, and as human beings sometimes do they make it personal.
- right..they have to pursade themselves that the thing they have is the best around. And Apple is EXCELLENT at fueling that zealotry.Boz
- that zealotry.Boz
- I sure wish that you could also stop feeding them ammo to attack with BLAAAMO!manonthestreet

Boz the iPhone 4 came out in june 2010 and you are telling us that june 2011 phones have better specs? jesus you are genius.

lol at the stupidest analysis "study" ever.
In what reality does this chart represent Android users ditching their phones? 17% and 17% means no change. And certainly Apple doesn't have a higher marketshare which means that the polling sample is completely retarded.
Of course, that whole "analysis" is completely idiotic overall and makes no sense, not to mention the fact it's not an official at all, it's polled only at one of small area of 1 city and conducted on a model of 216 people.
Only idiot like you can believe that this has any merit..
Btw, read the comments... they are HILARIOUS and pointing out things that are obvious to everyone but an imbecile.

Rubout: iPhone 5 to convert 42% of Android users, 67% of BlackBerry
The numbers show that less than half of Android users surveyed (47%) say they plan to buy another Android phone. That means user dissatisfaction with the platform is so high that the majority of people currently using an Android have already given up the on the platform. Aside from the kind of tech geeks who desire an overly complicated Linux-based phone, most current Android users are explainable either by the fact that the iPhone wasn’t on their preferred carrier at the time or an instance of a salesgeek promising them that Android would be “just like iPhone but better.”

74% of Verizon iPhone buyers are waiting for Apple's next model
"Among Android users, only 47 percent expect to buy another Android device, while nearly as many -- 42 percent -- said they will switch to an iPhone."

OMG!!! Galaxy S2 just arrived today.. OMG! This phone is beyond sick! I'm serious.
The screen is unreal. The phone is super light yet feels high quality.
It's similar difference compared to iPhone 4 when iPhone 4 was compared to the rest of the smart-phones when Retina display came out. Super AMOLED is unreal.
The phone has been on whole day and I didn't charge it at all when I opened it. It was at a 1/3rd of the battery and I was like let's drain this sucker so I can charge it fully from empty. But this shit won't die. ALL DAY and I've been without mercy (using 4G, bluetooth in my car, GPS etc nonstop)
I'm browsing HSPA+ mode on AT&T and it's seriously browsing at close speeds to my wifi.. but everywhere. The only time I see 3G is when I'm driving (i'm in movement) I guess HSPA+ can't hold a moving signal well.
Everything runs super super smooth.
Touchwiz is DISGUISTING. That's the only beef I have so far. I switched it to Launcher Pro and voila. There we go.
Can someone tell me, Clark or anyone else, is there a way to backup my current firmware before I go and flash it with stock Android 2.3.4. Just in case I want to go back to the factory one.
Is there anything else you would suggest I do with SGII instead of going stock 2.3.4?
Overall, I'm blown away.. this phone is really perfection. 8mb camera (that's the only thing I have left to try out) but I've seen examples and they look awesome.
The only thing that is pissing me off is that today they saw there's another SGII coming to the States.. with NFC on it.
But I guess i"ll live without it. I'm using Nexus S to test apps and stuff with NFC anyways. I guess with NFC SGII really becomes the ultimate smartphone. No wonder they are selling them like crazy.

Installing stock Android 2.3.4 on Samsung Galaxy S2
1) Download Stock Android 2.3.4 here:
http://www.samfirmware.com/apps/…
(password when extracting is samfirmware.com)2) Download ODIN if you don't already have it as you will need this. You can get it from here http://www.multiupload.com/1RTGS…
3) Reboot your phone into download mode. To do this first shut down the device. Then, press and hold the down volume key + home button + power button.
4) A warning will pop up asking you to confirm if you want to go into download mode (by pressing up) or if you want to cancel (by pressing down) Press up and enter download mode
5) Start up ODIN on your PC
6) From the 2.3.4 RAR file you have download, there will be 3 RAR files inside when you extract.
7) Click on PDA, Phone, and CSC, and choose the 3 files so it loads as below.
PDA - CODE_I9100XXKG1_CL349526_REV02_u...
Phone - MODEM_I9100XXKG1_REV_02_CL103411...
CSC - GT-I9100-CSC-MULTI-OXAKG1.tarThe ONLY boxes that should be ticked are Auto reboot and F. Reset time
8) Connect the phone to the PC via a USB cable and wait for the ID:COM box to turn yellow
9) Click start to flash the new firmware IMPORTANT: Do not disconnect the cable or turn off the device, it will reboot when it has finished
- Pretty straightforward stuff, love this simplicityernexbcn
- yeh ernex, odin is the best, select 3 files, press a button and your done.Hombre_Lobo
- you missed the irony hombreernexbcn
- I suspected some sarcasm. But odin really is a piece of a piss to use.Hombre_Lobo

Just picked up ASUS Transformer today.. such a great tablet. Doesn't feel cheap at all.. very slick , beautiful IPS display, great resolution, everything running smoothly.
$399 fantastic price. I love love Honeycomb. It comes with 3.1 honeycomb but it is said tomorrow Honeycomb 3.2 is coming to Transformer which is great news.
Overall, I'm enjoying it quite a bit, especially since I can view all Flash content. Believe it or not even desktop Flash sites for moveis with heavy video work fine. Not great but fine.
Overall, great purchase. I'm very happy with it. Do not listen to anyone whining about how it sucks. Mostly haters and Apple fanboys who never even used it.

Naïve Question: What is the state of adblocking on android phones? I'm still hmming and hawing between iPhone and Android at this point, but I don't want to see ads on my phone.

The google Nexus S -
http://www.google.co.uk/nexus/#
What a huge disappointment! Just a samsung galaxy s, with the google name slapped on it.
The new android 2.3 gingerbread looks great though.
- Hombre_Lobo0
just installed gingerbread 2.3.3 on my galaxy S
http://forum.xda-developers.com/…
running very sweet.i_monk, i only see ads in free games and free apps. very unintrusive though.
Make sure you spend an hour or so having a play on a decent android phone before you choose, they are comparable, with pros and cons on both sides.
Also consider a dual core Tegra 2 (nvidia) android phone, the games that are out and are coming out for them look great.
- <^ in other words, no Android browser supports ad blocking for web content?i_monk
- im not too sure dude, i havent noticed any ads in my browsing. using skyfire + dolphin browsers.Hombre_Lobo
