Horrible directing. Worse art direction. And even worse photography.
And the asian kid should just run off on his own. The rest of the hicks are going to get him killed.

Can't wait to see zombie Michael Scofield

It sucks that it takes 57 minutes to get to any action. Though today I read that Darabont has let go of all of the writers, which i feel is a good call since the series is already becoming banal in it's excecution.

I like that reference to Lost. With the comic I see a lot of references to this...
...I could write a dissertation on it!

it seems the major difference between people who like this show and those who don't is whether or notyou've read the comics.
i, myself, have not and don't really have any problems with the show. It's a shame because it's almost like the books ruined the show for people. For exmple, until i read this thread, i had no idea they were supposed to go to a prison instead of the CDC, so it didn't bother me (still doesn't).i can't say i'm innocent of not liking a movie or tv show because it didn't match the book. i have no interest in the XMen or Spiderman movies because they weren't as true as i thought they should be to the comics
- in other words, i liked last nights episode, especially when the old man caught tight-fro coplocustsloth
- eh? i haven't read the comics. and the show is clearly sucking. production, acting, script is all poor... nothing to do with original book.horton

- Well, maybe i'm wrong. Just seemed like most of the comments were about how it didn't measure uplocustsloth
- I think it's a good show.canuck

"Deadline reports that writer, executive producer and director Frank Darabont has let go of the entire writing staff on "The Walking Dead"...
Among the casualties of the writer's room's mass cleansing are writing executive producer Charles "Chic" Eglee and Glen Mazzara, who wrote last Sunday's episode, "Wildfire." There's currently no word on whether executive producer and comic book creator Robert Kirkman's writing status on the show has been affected by Darabont's decision.
The reasons for the writing staff changes are currently unknown, though they're certainly surprising given the massive critical and commercial success that "The Walking Dead" has enjoyed since premiering in October. With everything seemingly on the right path, it seems strange that Darabont and the AMC network would want to tinker with their winning formula in such a dramatic way."
Obviously, they were reading this thread and reacted accordingly. Thanks guiys.

I think whats standing in the way of this being a good show is more the direction than anything... something about the style and the way this is being executed is not right.
it could be fucking great...
if you watch the directors comments at the end of every episode you can tell the guy is not in tune with what is being presented.
Like he gives his opinion on the episode and you're like: "thats not what i just watched HOMEBOY!" lol

so, the season finale ... any thoughts or comments?
- kona0
awful finale. the whole cdc storyline was a complete waste of time. it was like the writers through it in just for 30 min of telling the how and why of the zombies but ultimately there was no fucking point. i hate what they did to andrea, she's unbearable and damnit shane should be dead by now. wtf are they doing? the whole point of the book was not that they were in danger from the zombies, it was that they were in danger from themselves and other non-infected people. that was the point of the fucking book. this show made me so mad i went out and bought a bunch of styrofoam and pretended i had super strength and smashed it all up around the house.
- but really what did you think of the finale?Ramanisky2
- i agree. lol, good luck cleaning the styrofoamMilan

not bad.. the lava that came out of CDC was cool effects.. the doctor went thru so much to tell about his zombie wife and kept so much vigil for everything to only fail at the end was a let down.. i thought he would arm them with something better than a video that no one seen before and one that doesnt give any answers for.. i see the visual motion graphics in the CDC screen display is where all the money for the budget went and now i realize the change of direction from books to film.. but didnt feel i care to want to watch it when it returns next year..

So what did Dr. Jenner whisper into Rick's ear as they were about to run out of the building?
- i_monk0
^ In the comic everyone is already infected with whatever causes zombiism. So when you die – for any reason – you come back as a walker. I'm betting that's what he told Rick, and what he meant by "no surprises" from the blood tests.

With the exception of episode 5, I have enjoyed watching and look forward to more episodes in the future.

I watch a few episodes, hoping it would be on the same level as Breaking Bad. I found it way too corny though, terrible acting combined with over-the-top writing. Plus I have no idea how they can extend this story any longer and keep it interesting.

i loved the doc's assessment of the epidemic.. umm could be viral, bacterial or microbial..
wow, way to narrow it down there, dude at the cdc.
so sick of that love triangle bullshit. not much of a cliffhanger there.
overall. season 1 fail.

The excessive gore in this show just makes its seem very cheesy and low budget. In the previous episode where that woman with no hair was driving the pick axe into her dead husbands head, it was just so stupid.
The show is good, but at times it can be extremely low quality, almost like something a student film class would make.
- Excessive, almost cartoonish gore, is a prerequisite of the zombie genre.i_monk
