If you're not dedicating an afternoon to at least browsing a couple used panty stores there's really no point in going to Tokyo.
I just wanted to make sure that got said.

Go to the international store in Hiroo and buy all of the marbled Japanese steak you can, then take the train and meet Peter at Naka-Meguro station and grill on his balcony. His neighbors may look at you funny like you are a crazy foreigner who is burning the building down, but don't mind them. As soon as they smell grilled steak they will relax.

go for a walk in shin juku then goto ebisu then goto shibuya then goto Mandrake the giant manga shop then goto a Race Queen bar in Roppongi Hills then goto the old shrines in the hills outside of Tokyo..
oh yeh the train ride from Narita airport to Tokyo is 3 hours.. so bring a PSP and play street fighter or do it on your iPhone or iPad or just take a sketch pad out and draw everything you see or touch everything and eat at every noodle shop cart or goto shinjuku then goto the hotel and sleep your first night and rinse and repeat til you have to come home..

there are people who will offer you some rice crackers with strange flavors. they will taste like death. always carry a bottle of water- although it wont be enough. 4 days later you will still have the taste in you mouth. errrrrr.
- Curry rice crackers? Those are excellent.DrBombay
- no, i like those too- these were more like seaweed/fish/death crackersbjladams

and as strange as it sounds, the mcd's in the tokyo airport is awesome... they use real beef, fresh bread... one of the most amazing burgers i've ever had. this is not a joke.

I too will be in Tokyo in November.

I was there when I was 17. Stand outs for me then were hot girls that were into video games, arcades, street bikes and it was mad clean for a big city. Also the gadgets felt like being in the future. It's one of my favorite places in the world.

4 days huh. And at least 1 of those day goes to concerts.
Fuji-q is fun if you got a day to spare. Simple but effective flash on their site, too, if you keep looking at the videos:
http://www.fujiq.jp/Once you get back in the evening (it's out by mt. Fuji) hit up an Izakaya or something else you might not have around where you live. "tabelog.com" lists a lot of places if you speak Japanese. If not there are still some fairly good ones in English, like this one:
http://www.bento.com/It lists bars too, for after eating. Super Deluxe is design oriented ( http://www.super-deluxe.com/ ), done by Klein/Dytham (they're swell) but goth dammet you are on vacation. Go for something grittier. Or something more fun. That Bento site might have some.
Lately I've grown to like Maduro in the Hills. Had a photoshoot there years ago but I never went back to check it out until recently...they don't mind cigars and have comfy couches.

Not too far from Tokyo midtown, either.
http://www.tokyo-midtown.com/jp/…-
In the following or previous day...do what epill said. Except for the shrines. They're boring. Well...if you have to maybe stop by Asakusa, it's not too far away from Akihabara (where I am sure you will want to go, if just for the used panties).
Harajuku wasn't on his list...no idea why Ebisu is there. Those 2 toy stores? ;)
Kichijoji is kitch, so is Shimo-Kitazawa. Both accessible on keio line going from Shibuya. The remaining time....
If you're into art and design (just a hunch) there's that site which list current events...
