check the spam thread icanhasqbnperson. you have a few 'extra' special fans.
- You posted him there as a joke, and I made a joke back. Lighten up, buddy. No need to get upset.monospaced
- why do you keep talking about being upset? i was just letting him know about an entertaining threadephix
- what's everyone quibbling about in here for?SrSamaurai
- because you started insulting me personally for no reason, which led me to believe you were upsetmonospaced

Weren't you sitting on a goldmine iCanhasqbn? If you're planning to move, buy the fastest i7 laptop with SSD and an external monitor, this will make it much easier for you when crossing the pond.
I've had a MacBook Pro + monitor setup for years now, this is best of both worlds.
- don't have the cash yet! i think i'll sell the mac before i move. as for a laptop, i don't need the mobility.iCanHasQBN

I have the 27" model and after I month the huge screen felt normal. You will adapt to the size easily and feel cramped on anything else after you use it.
- After I got the 30" ACD, for the first week or so each time I sat in front of it I went "whoooaa" and laughed.raf
- Then you'll only be disappointed if you work with more than one computer, like at work.Jaline
- Because chances are these other computers have a smaller screen. You'll have to adjust each time.Jaline

i have a 27inch i5 imac.. it is easiest the nicest mac i have owned..
sucks i cant expand it.. but for what i use it for (video, music, design) it does pretty much everything i need/want..and the screen size is dope.

too late! i got the 21". remember, i had a 4+ year old imac before this. so this new one is just enough size & speed for what i need.

I have a new 27" imac at work. The first run of it got me fairly excited at how quick it booted, but after installing everything(CS and Textmate pretty much) it runs like shit, and takes a good 5 minutes to reboot. My shitty old MB pro with 2gb of ram actually outperforms it.
Waste of money in my mind. I'd rather have had a new mbp.
Oh yeah - we got 4. 1 blew up - literally.
- A new MBP has almost the same hardware as the iMac in question. It shouldn't be slow.monospaced
- Yeah, it should be the same, if not better. It's either bad luck, or the older models are better.juhls
- What bothers me about every Mac I've used over 20 years is how long they take to shut down.CyBrain
- seriously? they've been very very fast to shut down for me. as fast as 5-7 seconds.iCanHasQBN

Moth, you want your macs to suck, they just fulfill your expectations. Computers are animated objects, like cars: love them, talk to them, caress them, they'll love you back.

Why the fuck would you want a touch screen desktop? So you can have loads of fingerprints on the screen and a rotator cuff problem from reaching up to the screen all day?
- I wouldn't mind it as an additional option to a mouse and keyboard.CyBrain

i just got a 27" i7 love it

As I said Raf, my old one doesn't suck. It's the new one that sucks. It does seem to express half the power it has, more often than not it refuses to shut down or reboot (so I have to hold the power switch), and when it does reboot or start up, it takes a fucking age. They're shit, basically. And why oh why for such an otherwise cute bit of kit, when will they add a DVD drive that doesn't sound like an asthmatic warthog taking a shit whenever you eject it?
