The show is based on things that happened but its definitely an exaggerated version of things. For example the real Enoch wasnt like this. Same with some of these details with guys like Luciano and Capone if you read about them.
Some things in history are so well known, it makes me wonder if they will actually happen on the show since that would make it predictable.
From wikipedia: "Gangland legend has it that Masseria dined with Charles "Lucky" Luciano before his death.[4] While they played cards, Luciano excused himself to the bathroom, when Benjamin "Bugsy" Siegel, Vito Genovese, Albert Anastasia and Joe Adonis rushed in and shot Masseria to death"
So would they do this on the show? Its so predictable so I dont know. They might change it.

I thought Nucky would have used the kid in the basement but that didn't work out.
Is Owen IRA? I could see Nucky having Owen rig some trucks full of explosives then detonate them when Gyp and cops take them and have Eli over-see it.
I also didn't know the conversation Masseria had with the old
Italians really happened. That's what i like most about the show is the historical perspective this show gives.

Gyp is going to get it so bad. It's just all simmering and marinating right now for him to be the worst vic in this series so far. Will it be the half-face hitman? Nah, too obvious. Nucky? Probably not. He knows Gyp is dangerous and won't go near him anymore. It's not that personal to him. Eli? Maybe. To get back on Nucky's good side. What if he got offed by some random character that he was f-ing with. Like he picked the wrong dude on the wrong day. I think I'll go with that.
- I say put a bomb on Mickey Doyle's back and run him into Tabor Heightsteh

@ -sine: In the bone for tuna episode. Eli was loading the truck up and tells Gyp its loaded. The alcohol Nucky gave Gyp to fuck off with but he decided to stick around. Re watch bone for tuna.

^ Didn't Gyp meet Eli when he 1st got outa jail. i'll have to re-scan previous episodes. I think Nucky is having a mental conflict. He probably really wants to let them go but ultimately in order to preserve the business he knows he has to. There has to be something or he would have killed Gyp a long time ago. I can't wait to see if Gyp has some big italian family ties in NYC.
Its the forced emotions they create like the "say goodbye to gradpa" in sopranos. I never thought I'd cheer for Al. Everything is a surprise, nothing is expected. I like that. Nothing is what you expect. It seems like random characters reveal more then the main characters. They come they die. Should be interesting next week.

^ I also thought it was weird that Eli was able to watch the whole set up go down and just drive away with no problems. Gyp doesn't know him. but the cops do though. They were talking to him and Mickey earlier in the show. So yeah, that was kind odd. But all in all, great episode. Anyone else find it odd how Nucky has to make his murder victims comfortable before knocking them off? This is the second time this season that he has tricked his prey into a false sense of security before killing them.

^ Lol, Enoch and Nucky are the same guy! Nucky is his nickname, Enoch is his real name.
You're thinking of his brother Eli.

What did Gyp offer the cops that Nucky hasn't? Also seems weird Enoch was sitting in the middle of the set up and was able to get away.
seems like a lot of hide and seek this week and was nice to see the compassionate and brutal side of Al.
Here's to Al sticking up for the little guys and to Enoch & Nucky probably getting back together. And to Gyp hopefully getting what that little ginny got for stealing his Booze!
Great episode!
Any thoughts?- That wasnt nucky at the set up, that was his brother.CygnusZero4

It's nice that they can get good ratings for a show this complex and well written
I mean compare the depth of this show with your average network TV drama.
- Its an HBO show, these shows have much higher budgets than some average TV show.CygnusZero4
- good character development and uncertainty. i like the uncertainty that builds until the last moment cont.>>>74LEO
- Nucky finally sees Billie74LEO

The show was just renewed for a 4th season.
- of course. I'm just wondering how they will hold on to characters. :)74LEO
- They dont, they kill them off and move on. Good shows do that.CygnusZero4
- true cant wait for Gyp to get ousted.74LEO
- Not me, I like these psychotic guys. I get nervous when he picks up a spoon.CygnusZero4
- hahah @cygnus!74LEO

Gyp seems like he gets angry when his lack of intelligence is challenged and it is confirmed he is stupid for " stickin around for awhile". I see him making a move on Eli and maybe the little rat Mickey Boyle.
I really thought the fat cop was gonna do more then flop around on the ground. Should be interesting to see what happens after a cop gets set on fire.
I hope they tell us what family or who Gyp works for in NYC. Haven't seen Al in awhile.
- Gyp took this post personally.CygnusZero4

the liberal agenda? By that do you mean storytelling and character development?
- Dillinger0
Dunno, the liberal agenda seems to have hijacked the show as so often happens. I am hoping they spend more time with the gangster side of things as it progresses.
