<- (iPod Touch owner, glad he didn't get the iPhone)
I'm very happy with my iPod Touch. Once you discover the ability to carry a few movies with you on the plane, and other entertainment like games, apps, and as has been mentioned above, great streaming radio apps and programs - the touch is a much better buy. But I'd also wait to see what Apple's got up it's sleeve in a few weeks.

they should sell the touch with a monthly data option like iPad
- Congratulations, you just invented the iPhoneraf

- hahaha at iphoneMiguex

they should sell the iphone, but with no service plans, just so you can use it to listen to music or maybe surf using wifi when available
- Rand0
not really, raf, with an ipad you can sign up for cellular when you need it, for $25 a month
- I don't care about the phone aspectRand
- But this is what iPod Touch is: iPhone without cellular radio. And you can have iPhone with or w/o plan as well.raf
- you can sign up for a month of cellular data without a phone plan for $25?Rand
- ipod touch doesn't offer 3g when there's no wifiRand
- don't play dumb with me, young man!Rand
- In the US? No. I get your point, but a device between iPhone and iPod Touch is not going to happen.raf
- They're very close as they are, would not make sense to confuse client further – but I've been wrong before.raf
- that's the whole reason i got an ipad... i didn't want a smart phone, wanted to go online in the car, etcRand
- That's still iPhone. Outside US you can get the handset and a data-only plan. Not price-effective that.raf

Yeah, wait for the apple presentation and then get the (new?) touch. Hopefully they'll put a camera in it now. All the fun of an iPhone without the annoying calls.

I enjoy my touch,
but it's just too small...- the ipod, not my penis..neue75_bold
- right, ok...neue75_bold

if you're only going to listen to music then the classic. But if you want to do anything else at all then the touch - but wait another week because new ones are due I think.

I think you can put quite a lot of music in 32GB. I have a 32GB iPhone and it never felt like I needed more space for music.
160GB is kind of A LOT of space.
- 32 GB would have me changing music. 160 wouldn't.CyBrain

How much music do you really need to have at a moment's notice? 32gb is a lot and you get so much more functionality with the touch.

The classic will weigh a lot more especially when full, 160GB is kinda heavy.
- lol, wtf!?!?monospaced
- Worse than the laptop thread on how large a 17" version is.CyBrain

lol, I use an 8GB iPhone as my portable music player and it seems like more than enough.
I think the 160 would be mainly if you intend to watch movies/ TV on it.

I had an 80GB classic that i absolutely loved. Though i felt it never had enough room as i also used it as a small storage device which came in very handy at times. It broke recently, and I'm keen on upgrading to another classic.

get iPod touch. You will have access to Pandora or Last.fm or other your favorite music radio through wi-fi. There are also some kick-ass music related apps that you won't be able to enjoy on iPod classic.

neither right now, wait until after the apple event that is coming up in a few days, it's been predicted that they are releasing new iPod Touches and new Nano's!
