cant get over how get that video is though. sometimes think i should have saved my pennies and got the GH1, instead of my GF1. but then i think mine is much more portable, so im happy!

Yeh shuyu, but the current hack doesn't make 1080 any better than 720 in terms of quality. Thanks foe letting me know, incase I hadn't known.

most people can't tell difference if it was shot with SD camera or not. Nit picking is not relevant anymore as all those camera are good enough to shoot narratives.

Awesome. I'm not sure how the Gh1 vs the 7D fairs in when stills are involved, but if it's video the gh1 seems the ticket!
Check out dvxuser forums for the latest on the GH1 hack.
Also I hacked my GF1 recently. The firmware hacks are amazing, extra menu features and more manual control in video. An higher bit rate shooting.

Oh no I wasn't suggesting getting a Gf1. It's miles below the 7D and gh1 for both video and stills. I was just pointing the level of professionalism and quality these hackers have put into the firmware is fantastic.
The t2i video is much better than the gf1 also. Absolute bargain that camera.
Also photonika event is coming up so you may want to wait and see price drops at the announcement if newer models.

Why noobie video geeks always grade themselves on their gear mystifies me.... you can RENT good stuff for your shoots for hopefully less than you're paying your caterer or location permits....
I've shot 5D mark II, and HVX200, both lovely within their limitations.... that Panasonic looks possible too, and thanks for that video review.... I don't own any of these, I borrow or rent.... having worked in a camera store, I'm used to figuring out menus fast...
The Nikon D3100 looks interesting... I do like the idea of a sub-$1k DSLR that takes lenses and can be carried around with pretty good AF while shooting in live view... waiting to see if it actually works well...
