Why noobie video geeks always grade themselves on their gear mystifies me.... you can RENT good stuff for your shoots for hopefully less than you're paying your caterer or location permits....
I've shot 5D mark II, and HVX200, both lovely within their limitations.... that Panasonic looks possible too, and thanks for that video review.... I don't own any of these, I borrow or rent.... having worked in a camera store, I'm used to figuring out menus fast...
The Nikon D3100 looks interesting... I do like the idea of a sub-$1k DSLR that takes lenses and can be carried around with pretty good AF while shooting in live view... waiting to see if it actually works well...
